Hi All,
Not been on for a while. Well done to the losers!
Chin up to those who are struggling...me too.
I can't seem to get into the SW diet, I'm not eating enough free food and using all my syns for other food. I couldn't get to class on Tuesday as I was away on business that day, but I know I've lost weight thsi week. This is part of my problem I seem to eat very little when I'm away at meetings all day.
aaargh I will get this eventually!
Not planning to give in to it.
Cheers

Hi all,
Debras Angel - I know how you feel!! I try to find an alternative meeting on a different day of the week if I am away on business as otherwise I cheat myself! Odd isn't it, when I am only losing weight for me now anyway!
Anyway what I wanted to say was, this week (after 1/2 lb on this last week, I have dug out a "good week" food plan, and am sticking to it, I am hoping that by knowing already what I am having every day and having everything ready, that I might redeem myself and get 2 1/2 lbs shifted in the next week or two before I go on holiday! When I was a bit gutted on Wednedsay my classmate said to me on Wednesday, "Can you honestly say you have been as good as you were the first week at eating the right stuff and planning?" (it's a good job we're friends as I was feeling a bit PMT-ish too!!!) and when I thought about it, I knew what I could do. That gave me a bit of a kick up the bum!
Keep smiling and dig out some inspiring stuff from your old food diaries or an old SW magazine and get yourself back on track, you'll soon be back to your losing ways!
BethMisguided maybe, but never really bad!! :A0 -
Hi guys
Am after a bit of advice as, following on from only maintaining last week, I've been wondering whether i'm taking "eat as much free food as you like " a bit too far? I tend to do mainly green days (only had 2 red days since i started!) as I love my pasta and rice and love that I can have as much as I like! Also, haven't got much inspiration for red days! Here is what I have eaten/will be eating today, can anyone give any comments on if you think i am doing things wrong?
Breakfast: Shreddies (HEB)with milk from HEA allowance
Morning: a pear, a plum, a small tangerine, and 1 large chopped up raw carrot
Lunch: Plenty of rice with cucumber, tomatoes, raddishes, feta (HEA) and lemon juice
Afternoon: a pear, 1 large chopped up raw carrot, a banana ( may not eat banana if not hungry)
Dinner: Spaghetti bolognaise with lean mince (HEB) (0 syns)
Evening: frozen muller light , glass of white wine (as my syns for the day)
Any advice appreciated!0 -
Ems - that sounds like a similar plan to some of my days except i use quorn instead of real meat and use my other HEs on bread. I think your plan looks fine as long as you're weighing all the HEs and measuring the wine!
If you need a diet kick i've tried to use the 'success express' principles (though modified to suit me as a vegetarian) in the past which has helped. Mostly, for me, i tried to get more superspeed (SS) freefoods into the diet and reduce the plain old free ones. Or fill up a plate with 2/3 superspeed foods and only a 1/3 with potatos/pasta/rice etc.
Of course, the maintain could just be one of the random weight loss gliches we all get from time to time!0 -

Ooh, I didn't know that - is it all the flavours? Mind you, knowing me, if I had a box of those in the house I probably wouldn't be able to stop at just 2!
Hope you're not too put off eBay, some of us sellers are really quite lovely0 -
Hi All,
Well week one over and done with in Body Optimise - I was a bit wary of posting on week one incase it did not work. Weight loss this week was 3lb so quite pleased with the start and giving me the confidence to go onwards and upwards.
I wanted to thank you all for your advice last week regarding PMT & Jelly worms, I have been popping back to keep up but only just got the chance to mail - tidy house, kids playing outside (something must be wrong!!) - trying to find something for dinner on green days now. I am really struggling as we don't really eat a lot of spices, peppers and the like. Looks like Jacket potato and salad for us. Went shoping but always seem to forget half the ingrediants I will need which drives me mad. Going to try the Caluiflower bake (and chuck in some broccoli too - yum) hubby hates this but as he has lost nearly half a stone in a week then he can like it or lump it, LOL. He eats some serious rubbish and I think he has finally realised after losing so much weight!!
I have a little tip - whether it works or whether it co-incidence then that's up for you to decide. I read about the hibernation diet last weekend and you have one spoon of honey in warm skimmed milk at bedtime. It is supposed to burn fat while you sleep and stop your sugar cravings through the next day. Now I can eat sweets and chocolate like they are going out of fashion and always feel the need for some kind of sweet thing during the day and have not felt the need for any since I sarted this. However, on Wednesday night when I broke my will and was almost through the whole pack 100g of sugar free worms (eek) and a pack of fruitella (eeeeeeeek) I realised I had not had the milk and honey the night before. I have been having the milk since and have not had the desire for sweets since. Weird huh!! Maybe worth giving it a try. The honey is 1 syn and the milk from your allowance. Give it a try, you never know.
You know, I went to a BBQ last weekend and thought I'd be good and only drunk Tropicana orange juice. never even figured but I could have wept when I saw it was about 40 since in a whole day just on juice. I always thought it was good for you. I guess that just goes to show.
Expensive lark this dieting. I need a new fridge as the old one is not big enough to hold everything we are buying these days , LOL. Not to mention the cost of food. Ouch!!
Thanks once again for listening.

Me again,
Can I ask. A lot of the desert recipes use egg white which is not cooked. Can someone tell me if there is an alterntive to this as I have to young children under 3 and don't want to give them raw egg.
Many thanks0 -
Good evening all - a busy day again - have joted down notes as I read and hope I don't miss anyone out - apologies in advance if I do!!
Petal, Sue and Bluemonkey well done on your loses :j so far
Ems your day sounds similar to mine when I am doing a green day. See how you do this week and if you are worried have a chat with your consultant and see what she says but I thought the theory of 'free' food was that you could eat as much as you wanted/needed.
Debras Angel - shame you missed your meeting, perhaps there is one you could go to as an alternative so that you don't miss out on that weigh in.
Daisykate - motivation - hmm know that one been there, done that and got the t-shirt 100 times over - every week a new start til tuesday  However this board is great and with its support I am sure you will find your motivation soon.
Have done quite well myself today. Was very disciplined and made myself come home for lunch, chicken salad, which I had planned in advance. Very difficult as there is a lovely Costa Coffee in town and I just love their three cheese and ham paninis and large cappucino's  Dinner was baked cod, news potatoes, broccoli, sugar snap peas and baby corn yum
Anyway good luck to everyone for the weekend - I find them the hardest as too much temptation!!0 -

I was wondering if anyone knew if strong white flour/strong wholemeal contains more syns than regular plain flour?
I probably will eat bread for my HEs but it would be nice to be able to judge how many syns I'll eat if I decide to eat an entire loaf in one sitting
Well done with the new surge of will power that people seem to be having - hope i have the will power this weekend as i have a couple of bbqs and a fun fair to go to
Ooh I'd love one of these, but bread is as big a no-no as chocolate for me. I can eat a while loaf (specially when it's still warm....groan!!).
The flour is just the same (around 4½ syns per 28oz). White loaves have to be synned, but if you make wholemeal loaves, you'd be allowed up to 114gms a day as healthy extras :jI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Yes all the flavours - but I know what you mean about having them lying around....they tend to call through the cupboard doors don't they?
Also the Alpen Light bars can be used the same, ie: 2 = 1 HEB.
I double checked with SW about these cos there have been rumours around for a while. It appears that you must eat 2 to get enough fibre for them to be a HEB, otherwise they are 3 syns each.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
