For Honey...
I'm the one on the rightI haven't got one!0 -
Now then Honey, what can we do with you?
What do you nibble on and pick at when you get home from work?
I tell you what I like to nibble at...
Roast some new potatoes with garlic in fry light. I put them in a bowl in the fridge and just eat them when I'm feeling nibbly (I'm always on green days)
Can you cut up some carrot, celery etc and have it ready to eat.
I know you can be motivated Honey and I refuse to give up on you because of that. You help others in so many ways and we know that you CAN get back on track. Get yourself back to class and restart NOW!I haven't got one!0 -

Thanks for the support Jenpoptab, I know what it is I need to do to lose weight. I found this forum really motivating and I've not really posted for the past 2 weeks, I resolve to keep my tracker and keep up to date with the MSE slimmers to motivate me.
Honey28, it seems that you had all the motivation in the world when you had an obvious goal and target (your holiday in April). Is there anything else coming up in the next few months that you could use as a goal and target?Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -

Delly you are right about the motivation for the holiday, I think thats what got me moving to start with. I have nothing for the foreseeable future, but I do want to lose weight to look good. Next year I am doing bridesmaid for my best friend so I do have that ahead.
I am unable to go to the gym as I have back problems and it has been recommended that I only do light excercise. I had considered curves but am not sure the extent of exercise that goes on there, nor the cost. I've started walking to a further away train stop when I leave work (time permitting) in a bid to up my walking for the day. I know that I am in the right direction, my fridge is packed full of good things - salad, fruit, its just that I seem to give up half way through the day. Thanks for all the kinds words (and the kick up the backside - ouch that hurt :rotfl: )0 -
Honey,
I know exactly where you're coming from. I've been doing pretty much the same thing these past 2 weeks. I think part of your problem might be negative internal dialogue (watching too much Paul McKenna on sky 3:rotfl: ). Try listening to what you're telling yourself when you give up halfway through the day. When you become aware of the negative things you're saying to yourself, try to change it. (I caught myself telling my 7month old son, you're mummy's really fat!... and thought, first step to him having a weight problem so I'm now trying to stop it).
Something else that might motivate you... count the weeks to the wedding and work out how much weight you'd like to lose. Set a target per week based on the weeks you have to lose the weight and the no of lbs you'd like to lose. If you're target is only 1lb per week, it's fairly reasonable to expect you can do it. I've set myself a short term goal of 12 weeks (family wedding in Cyprus and I don't want to be the only beached whale there! ) and a long term goal of next June (when I want to start trying for another baby but don't want my weight to hold me back this time).:o
I have a congenital defect in my lumbar spine and find that yoga really helps for my back pain... have you ever tried it? A trained yoga therapist will be able to adjust the postures to fit in with your back problems..... the relaxation at the end helps me to focus on my goals for the week ahead too.
Oh, and a goal to help you look good... there's a website https://www.mvm.com. It's my virtual model. You put in your details (height, weight etc.) and it brings up an image of how you look.... don't put in what weight you are... put in what weight you'd like to be and keep a copy of the picture... I did and I'm going to look fantastic when I get my weight off. I've printed out the picture and stuck it to my fridge for motivation.
Good luck this week. I'm certain you can do it.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -

Aw honey. Had no idea you were struggling so much.
As part of my sw-chips-everyday plani tend to get home at 4pm and 'snack' on a portion of sw chips which fills me up. That way i can get on and do things without thinking about my tummy then have a proper dinner with the boyfriend at 8ish. Probably eating twice in the evening isn't necessarily the healthiest thing to do but it stops me from picking which i tend to do (with cheese and stuff
) when i'm in the flat with nothing exciting to do.
Good luck - you're already doing really well by not having given up!
PS what does light exercise really mean? Could you swim?0
