hello everybody, thanks to everyone who cheered me up after my zero loss on my first week! geez, it's depressing typing that out again... haha:rolleyes:

been on a red week this week and seems tobe doing the job, four people have commented on my weight loss :j haven't checked though, have developed a bit of a scale phobia

sounds like everyone else is doing well, congratulations to everyone whos lost this week and chin up to those who didn't!

Bluenose - weird coincidence. I was looking at an american dieting website yesterday and it mentioned the south beach diet. Sounds like it's a vaguely sensible way of eating (though make sure you're getting plenty of veg if you can not eat fruit).

The slimming world diet, which many of us here are on, encourages fruit and veg as well as lean meat, carbs, calcium and fibre so please don't start to think that fruit is bad for you!

The point of me posting (and there was a point!) was to ask whether the diet recommends you weighing very often as, as far as i know, most people weigh once a week to give a true reflection of how much they've lost. Your body weight can fluctuate throughout the day and week regardless of how well you've been eating!

    Good luck with it!

Oh my god! I drink literally gallons of sugar free squash. I thought it was totally syn free, I don't just use a splash either! What sort of syn value do you reckon i should give for say, a pint of average strength sugar free cordial? I know you will probably say I should cut down the squash and drink plain water but I drink loads of that too! I am just ALWAYS thirsty, I have always been like that! I drink in an average day, 2-3 pints squash and a coffee before I go to work, 3-3.5 litres of water at work, and about 4-5 coffees, then about 4-5 pints of squash at night! Have I been syning without knowing it ?!!! Thanks in advance for your help!

Well according to the books, sugar-free squash is free, but I don't think they would expect you to drink a bottle-full  .
You do seem to drink an excessive amount - the only other person I know who drank lots like you turned out to be diabetic. I've don't want to frighten you, but it may be worth being tested.
Try to cut back on the amount of squash if you can, 'cos even though it's sugar-free, there are chemicals as a rule (eg: colourings, flavourings, aspartame etc) which, in excess, may not be good for you.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

    Thanks

I do drink an excessive amount and I know I should cut down but I really struggle! I might start buying bottled water to keep in the fridge at home cos I really don't like tap water without cordial. Thanks for the concern re diabetes - I have been tested for it more than once when I have beeen to docs and had other symptoms, that has been one of a wide range of things they tested for. my mum wouldn't believe that I wasn't diabetic when I was young, as I drunk so much, so I ended up being tested twice as a child and another time about 5 years ago. At least the amount of plain water I drink can only be good for me! My immediate concern was that I had been having loads of syns without knowing it but at least that isn't really the case, although I do know all that sweetener can't be good for me!

My wallet is just itching to splurge on the very expensive panasonic breadmaker so that i can make 'healthy' but yummy bread for me and OH. It would also be used to make low syn pizza dough.

Before i do anything stupid and hand over my hard earned cash, are there good low syn bread recipes around and do any of you SWers use a bread maker?

    Cheers.

    Hi Jennitels,
I am probably not meant to get weighed yet but I couldn't resist. My clothes are looser than what they have been in a good while so I know its not just a fluctuation.
Take your point about the fruit but according to the book I have to cut it out for a fortnight to get blood sugars under control and stop cravings.
I normally feel peckish all the time and am amazed that I am not hungry on this diet.
Am having steak with onions and pureed cauliflower again tonight. I know pureed cauli sounds horrible but it is delicious and just same consistency as mash.

    Hi JenIttles,
I am not at all keen on any type of exercise, but I so far I'm quite enjoying:eek: the circuit style routine of Curves. Basically it takes 30 mins to complete 3 circuits but you're only on each type of equipment for 30 seconds then you move onto the next one. Now that seems really short but when you're doing the lifty uppy things ( I'm not into all the technical terms yet) 30 seconds is really enough for me! BUT the 30 mins fly by. I'm always clock watching when exercising but the Curves system doesn't give you time to do that.
I've only been twice (I joined 2 days ago!) and I'm going to go tonight after work so long may this positive attitude continue.

Hi tryingtobegood - Just wondering how you are getting on at curves. I'm considering joining.
