Hi,
I am rubbish at sticking to the diet for a period of time, so I thought if I get these tablets then I can train my mind to eat healthy without getting the hurges to eat crap, On these tablets I won't be drinking beer, or ordering takeaway so this can only be a good thing. obviously I am still eating but i'm choosing better and paying out loads of money is a good incentive to stick to it. Of course I aint going to take them forever I aint made of money lol.
I just want a kick start i'm sick of starting then getting disheartend cos i'm not seeing results quick enough im very demanding and when I want something I want it now.
I know it's a lifestyle change and I know it's going to be hard, but Im hoping these give me that little extra help to loose a bit and give me the confidence and incentive to carry on living healthier than I am without them.0 -
Hi this is my first post although been visiting the site since last year. Does anybody have a copy of the chemical diet the quick fix where you lose loads of weight very fast. I did have a copy of the mayo diet in the 70 s lost of eggs and grapefruit pretty grim but it worked, we moved house and it got lost,
I know this is not the way to do it but I did do slimming world and lost 4st 8lbs 2 years ago I go on holiday in 10 days and would like something quick.0 -
blue_monkey, the "ground stuff" should be fine - polenta is usually made from cornmeal and water, plus whatever seasonings you add to it. The stuff you saw in the farmshop was probably cornmeal, even if it's labelled as polenta.
If you search google or any cookbooks you have, you should find instructions for how to prepare it.
It's not guaranteed, but you may find that your pre-period water retention will ease off somewhat if you drink more water and eat a healthier diet (which you will be doing on Slimming World). It also helps with cramps and mood swings. From the little reading I've done, it seems that it's more crucial at this time of the month to avoid too much fat, salt, sugar and processed foods (like white bread), because they aggravate the symptoms of PMT. Which isn't easy, since that's when the cravings tend to kick in the most.I don't know if it affects the the number on the scales, but I've definitely found that the healthier my diet is, the easier the pre-period days are for me and those around me.
I haven't answered all your questions (I'll leave those to the more knowledgable posters!) but I hope some of this helps, and good luck!

Also, please can I ask what Sauce Flour is. is it the same as cornflour at all?
Can I also ask about the Syns. What is the daily amount you can use? Bit of a sucker for my sauces so if I get rid of these then I might be able to have a chocolate bar - descisions!!
Also, I bought some 'Sugar Free Worms' which are like those jelly sweets, can anyone offer me some advice on the number of syns.
QUOTE]
Sauce flour is just cornflour as far as I know and is 5 syns per 28gms. There is a book called Saucy Secrets you can buy throught the SW site, it's brilliant for a sauce fan - loads of syn-free or low-syn sauces for every occasion.
Polenta is cornmeal, if you buy the ground stuff, the recipe is on the back to make it up. If you buy the ready made, all you do is slice it and fry in Frylight (not tried it so can't say what it's like!)
Sadly I think the syns for your sugar-free sweets are going to be quite high - around 4 or 5 syns for 28gms. This is mainly because SW want you eating food which contributes towards your health (and is filling) rather than just being 'fanciable', lol.
You should be having between 5 and 15 syns a day - do have them. As you get nearer your target you can cut down on syns, to get things moving again. Whereas, if you're not having them in the first place, you've nowhere to cut back (if you get my meaning).
Most members carry a little extra weight on their * week (period). It's only fluid and will come off the week after, don't worry. Drinking lots of water really does help keep the bloated feeling at bay>I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hi JenIttels
Sorry for the time it has taken me to reply - it was dd bday party yesterday, and then with fathers day today and preparing for the holiday, this has been my first chance to get on line since Thursday.
We're off tomorrow to Elvedon Forest - only an hour drive from home - but feels like you are in the middle of no where! Last year I lost nearly half a stone there, but I wasn't dieting at the time! My DD was two, and when she wasn't in the trailer wanted mummy to carry her everywhere. Being the mug I am I obliged!(This time I'm just hoping to maintain - as I'll drink a lot more than I have done for some while!) Other than wine and birthday cake I've planned my meals to be free food, packed loads of healthy extras and fruit and bottled water for drinking round the pool at lunch time. If I d gain, I've promised not to mentally beat myself up - I've done so well to get to where I am, and next Monday I'll start again - (if I need to.)
As long as you had a good time in Cumbria, and resolved to be good again after - a little gain is not the end of the world is it?

You and me both Cathy!
The way I see it, if you go on holiday intending to stay the same you end up being a diet bore, and you won't enjoy yourself. I'm going to relax, but not go wild - alcohol is my usual downfall when I'm on holiday so I'll set myself a daily limit and stick to it (although Guiness is health food isn't it..?. We're self catering, so at least I won't be tempted by a cholesterol overdose breakfast every day!
Have a great time in Cumbria.

Hi all - here is the updated spreadsheet for this week, and I think I've added any changes that have been posted. If not, I'm sorry, please let me know and I'll make sure they're included next week.
I had an odd week - I was due to go back to Rosemary Conley on Thursday evening, after doing the kick start plan, but couldn't make it so I went on Saturday morning instead, and according to their scales I'd lost 7 pounds!!!!
As you can imagine I was well chuffed, but my scales don't back that up, so I started to puzzle about how that could happen, and as I know from experience that my weight in the morning can be 3 or 4 pounds less than it is in the evening I put it down to that (I know, how sad is it to weigh yourself twice a day..?)
So my theory is that it's down to the time of day - the first WI was in the evening, after I'd eaten, and the second in the morning when I'd only had a light breakfast.
As far as the 2 pound club goes, I'm going to use the figure that my own scales are telling me, until I get into a proper routine with RC - i.e. when I've decided if I'm going on Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings!
Well done to everyone who's lost this week, and well done to the new people on the thread for making the decision to join in. Have a great week everyone.

Confusing weight losses for Lois then! Think you're taking a very sensible approach to it though.
Have a lovely time in Elvedon forest Cathy
Feel like a bit of a bloater after eating alot this weekend (also was anniversary so went out for meal). Mostly i've stuck to the diet (even the meal out was quite good) but i always feel a bit anxious after the weekend when i'm still 3 days away from weigh in!
Hope you're all good!0 -
The first question to ask about Adios is ... does it work? Straight forward question, but not a straight forward answer.
Before this question can be answered it's best to try and understand how Adios works.
As its says in the advert, the best way to loose weight is via a calorie control diet. This is probably one of the most important things to realise. Before taking Adios you already have to be on a diet that is working for you. Might not be at the rate you want, but the important thing is that you are loosing weight. If you're loosing weight then that means you're using up more calories than you are consuming through food. It's a straight forward principle. If your body needs more energy than what you are giving it, it will go else where to get it, namely your body fat. This is where Adios comes in.
Adios claims to increase your metabolism and the rate your body breaks down fat. This is why the key point above is so important. If your body is getting more energy than it needs from the food you give it, it has no reason to initiate the processes that breaks down and uses the fat in your body. If no fat is being broken down, Adios has no process to improve or speed up.
This is why it's difficult to determine if Adios is working or not as in theory, for Adios to work, you already have to be loosing weight. So who's to say that the weight loss you experience isn't from your existing diet and not Adios? Well this is the real question to be answered. The best way to answer this is by my own personal experience. Before I go into details though it is important to realise that everyone's bodies are different. Their metabolisms, etc. all work at different rates. What works for one person does NOT guarantee it will work for another.
I've had issues with my weight for years until I found a routine and program that works for me. It's a simple combination of exercise and eating well. My weight fluctuates throughout the year, putting on anything from 7 to 10 lbs over the winter (I love my mince pies!). Then comes summer and the desire to loose that extra baggage before holiday. I have a simple 8 week plan that usually sees me loose on average 1 lb a week getting me back to my 'summer weight' just in time for my hols. I've tried this routine for the past 2 years with exactly the same results. This year however, I chose to take Adios two weeks into my 8 week routine. For the first two weeks without Adios I saw the usual 1 lb loss. Then, after the third week, having been on Adios for one week I saw a 2 lb loss. Then on the forth week, having now been on Adios for two weeks, I saw a 3 lb loss. So, it would therefore suggest that Adios has more than doubled my usual rate of weight loss loosing 5 lbs in two weeks rather than 2.
For me, this is conclusive proof that something is happening. I know my body well and have never been able to loose weight this quickly. Is it Adios? Still can't say for sure. Maybe the act of taking a pill has subconsciously made my body increase my metabolic rate by itself. Who knows? Even so, the fact remains that the moment I started taking Adios my rate of weight loss more than doubled.
But the proof doesn't end there. My girlfriend was also trying to loose some weight and was doing well averaging 1lb a week similar to myself. After her first week on Adios she saw a loss of 3lb.
Just for reference my girlfriend and I take a pill with breakfast, lunch and evening meal and one before bed.
If Adios works or not, I don't actually care. Fact is that since taking Adios my weight loss has increased and for £5 per box 100 (25 days), it's worth it (Tesco currently selling 2 boxes for £10). As the advert says, 'Try it, what have you got to loose?'
Another great 'side effect' is that my girlfriend and I actually feel better than ever too. More energy and 'get up and go'. Can only put that down to the increased metabolism giving us more energy.
Give it a go, I'd be interested to see what other peoples experiences of Adios are.Life's too short to grow up ... :j0
