Lois,
I'd love it if you could post on a thought for the day for us.... I need all the inspiration I can get.
I've been reading posts about drinking water. I know how difficult it is but I've found a solution for myself.
Savers have a 6x 500ml pack of bottled water for 99p. I've found that drinking from a 500ml bottle doesn't seem to be as difficult as some of the sports sized bottles (or the massive american style glasses I have at home).
I keep them in the fridge and carry one around with me as I'm working through the house or driving DS where-ever I'm gallivanting off to taking sips from it whenever I remember. Once I've emptied it, I refill it from either the tap or from one of those cheapie 2ltr mineral water bottles from tesco or lidl and put it back in the fridge.
I've actually found that this makes drinking my 2lts of water every day less of a huge task. Some day's I'm drinking much more.. and I've also noticed that I'm less hungry and craving water more.
It might work for someone else too!Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
Hi all
Haven't posted for a while because I came off my diet and wanted to see where I was going before I joined the discussion again. Have been following all the posts though, so well done to all the 'losers' and hello to the newbies
I was following a kind of Atkins very low carb diet because that suits my digestion, ( I have Ulcerative Colitis and IBS), but was getting pretty fed up with it and abandoned it completely when I went on a girlie w/e last week:p
With the hot weather my appetite has actually lessened, (miracles do happen!!!) and I've just weighed myself and have lost 2lbs this week. The best bit is I've now dipped just under 12st. Isn't it wonderful when the 'stones number' goes down one? Especially on digital scales!:D
Lois, if you're still around, could you put me down for a 2lb loss for this week? Hope you have a really great holiday, and thanks again for keeping the chart.:T
I've been listening to all you SW-ers raving on about Muller lights, and now I'm addicted too!:j Has anyone tried whisking them into sugar free jelly? Is that successful? When the children were small I used to make evaporated milk jelly mousse by the bucket load. It always went down well and they called it 'splodge'Will have to start making it again for the grandchildren. I won't be tempted to eat it though, never could stand evaporated milk :rotfl:
We are going on holiday to Dubrovnik tomorrow, so no more dieting for meHope to do lots of walking and swimming to minimise the damage, and I hear that the walk around the old City walls is VERY strenuous  I will try not to go overboard on the food and drink.......
Good luck to everyone. Hope you all have a brilliant week:beer:

I use half the amount of water to sugar-free jelly crystals, then whisk in a large pot of vlf yoghurt. It's yummy and goes a long way.
Some recipes from the Muller website below:-
Marbled Cranberry & Raspberry Dessert
SERVES 4 (1 syn per portion)
· Sugar free Raspberry jelly (2 syns)
· 3 Müllerlight Raspberry and Cranberry yogurts
· 125g punnet fresh Raspberries
· Very low fat Fromage Frais
· 1 level tspn chocolate flakes (1 syn)
Dissolve the jelly crystals in 300ml/half pint boiling water, then add a further 150ml/quarter pint cold water. Press the raspberries through a sieve trying to extract as much puree as possible, whisk this puree into the jelly. Refrigerate until beginning to set, whisking a few times to keep the jelly at an even consistency. Spoon the jelly into four glasses then add the yogurt, swirl together then return to the fridge to set. Decorate with a blob of very low fat Fromage Frais and a sprinkle of chocolate flakes.

Mango Fool
SERVES 4 (Syn Free)
· 1 medium ripe mango
· Grated zest and juice 1 lime
· 3 Müllerlight Lime and Lemon Yogurts
· Extra lime to decorate
Peel the mango and roughly chop the flesh, put into a food processor with the lime zest and juice. Blend until finely chopped. Spoon the yogurt between four glasses then spoon in the mango. Take a spoon and swirl together. Serve decorated with slices or small wedges of lime.

Peach & Raspberry Melba
SERVES 4 (Syn Free)
· 2 large ripe peaches
· 225g fresh raspberries
· Very Low Fat Fromage Frais
· 3 Müllerlight Peach and Maracuya yogurts
Halve the peaches and remove the stone, then chop into chunks, divide between four glasses Put the raspberries into a bowl and crush with a fork. Place 2 teaspoons into each glass. Top with the yogurt then spoon over the rest of the crushed raspberries, slightly swirling into the yogurt. Just before serving add a blob of vlf Fromage FraisI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
I have a list of 100 reasons to lose weight which I saw ages ago and snagged from another site. Some are tongue in cheek, but lots of them strike a cord.
I could put them on here but they take up around 5 A4 sheets and I didn't know whether I should take up that amount of space???
Let me know if you want them put up.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Thanks for the recipes. They sound yummy, and I'll certainly be trying them when I get back from my hols :T

Hi
Have read this thread from the start and you are all an inspiration to me. I joined SW in January and although started very well I have been letting things slip a little since Easter. I am still attending classes and have signed up for the 12 weeks for 10 to keep me going.
I have lost 1 stone and 1/2lb so far and am now motivated to get myself sorted and get on with it again. I thought by joining the 2lb club it would give me something to strive for each week.
So here goes for the final attempt (I say final as I feel I can do it this time) to loose the further 4 stones I wish to loose.0 -
Hi Moira - welcome to the club
I'm sure you'll find the motivation and support you need from the people on this thread.

Hey Moira
I have lost about the same in 9 months and like you have come to a bit of a plateau the last few weeks. My downfall is my sociable work environment!!!
Keep posting we all know where you are coming from;)0 -
Weighed myself Friday morning and am down another 1lb so not too bad. Since I am not actually going to RC have decided to put aside £5 per week as if I were and have promised myself I can use it however Iwish when I lose my 1st stone. At this rate I will be able to buy a new wardrobe, never mind a new skirt!0
