Cathys1: Which center parcs are you going to? I went to the one in Cumbria and thought it was pretty great. Put weight on despite the activities cause i was naughty but it is a very diet-friendly holiday cause of self-catering, isn't it?! Have fun!

Pug-in-a-bed: What a lovely thing to do to take such good care of your father. As you've said, stick to the diet as well as you possibly can but don't deprive yourself by either not using all your points or by not eating lots of the no count food (depending which ones you do). You need to eat enough of the right foods to lose weight - don't just eat nothing! Keep posting here with your weight losses - men sometimes do much better than women on good diets for some reason so it'll be interesting to hear how well your father does (and you of course :D)!

Sali-mali: I'm sure everyone following slimming world will agree when I say eat your healthy extras. And some syns - how many did you use at the weekend? Are you eating copious amounts of free food? I only do green days as I, and other people on this thread, am vegetarian. I tend to lose better when i've eaten lots of free food (and I mean LOTS) had HEs everyday and a handful of syns each day.

Bensjack is right about drinking loads of water too. At least 8 glasses a day and more in the heat.

What kind of exercise are you doing? Cardio-vascular (sp?) and toning is good as you lose weight but you may not see the effects of it for months in your weight loss/health.

Don't feel downhearted if you can...we all have weird weight loss anomilies- the body is a complicated thing! Keep following the plan and it'll happen for you.

    Good luck!

Hello daisykate, and welcome - I am fairly new here too. Hopefully sticking together will help us to stick to the better eating habits!

Sali-mali: don't lose heart, it happens to me all the time that I get stuck and don't seem to lose any weight for ages. But SW is one that works for me. Just keep at it, I'm sure next week you'll have a nice surprise!

Hi everyone, I have been avoiding this thread for a week or two as I know I have been slipping and sliding all over place with my diet, sometimes I have been really good and other times a complete disaster! LOL!

Anyway, I got on my mums scales this morning and I am still losing so thats okay, must go out and buy a lifetimes supply of quorn sausages to get me back on the straight and narrow I think!!

Haven't read back through the threads as I have a sore head this morning (self inflicted from last night! ow!) so am feeling to delicate to make much effort today - LOL!

Hope you are all doing well & enjoying the superb sunshine!

hello everyone, sorry i haven't been here since my hello message! :hello:

Well i promise you i was a model dieter, not putting a foot wrong all week. i didnt even have my syns most days, although i did go on a pretty big bender over the weekend! i was very excited to go to my first weigh in thinking i'd done really well but it turns out i'd lost absolutely nothing. not even half a pound! no gain either but i was still really disappointed.

I can't work out whre i went wrong for the life of me. can anybody help?

When I get a new member, I always ask them to stick to the plan 100% for the first week - with no tweaks ;) .
Although you feel you'd done really well, you didn't have your HEs and you didn't have your syns, so you weren't really following the plan, the scales show no loss (or even a slight gain, aargh!) and then you are bitterly disappointed. Unless you're very determined, this is the point where you begin to think the diet is rubbish and doesn't work for you.
But it will, given the chance, it really will work, honestly.
So next week, eat for England :rotfl: .
Have ALL your Healthy Extras, and ALL your syns, drink AT LEAST 2 litres of water every day and see what the scales say then. I'm sure you'll be delighted :D

i dont understand the logic!! how can not taking my syns make my weight stay up?! haha i understand the helthy extras bit, am doing that this week, syns aswell so i'll keep you posted. here's todays menu just to make sure i'm doing right -

2 x wholemeal toast, no butter (b choice)
cup of black coffee, 2 x sugar (syns)

bacon + egg sandwich, fat cut off bacon, no butter (free, yum yum)
on wholemeal bread (b choice #2)

    fresh coley fillet (free)
parsley sauce (a choice, skimmed milk)
    mashed swede + carrots

lots of you have been saying about drinking more, will take that on board because i know i dont drink enough. thanks for all your help

Breakfast: Fitnesse Chocolate & Orange Bar (taken it as a B choice as it's only 90 calories?)

    Ang x

I don't want to disappoint you, but the calorie count of any food isn't what determines a healthy extra. In this case, it is all about the fibre content. I don't know what it is for these bars, but the Hi-Fi bars contain over 10% fibre, which is why they can be counted as a healthy extra.
The syn value is 4½ on red or green for the apricot bar (the book I have at home is last years, so doesn't give the choc/orange bar).

Your day plan here looks very short on fruit and veg and if you made your own parsley sauce it will have had flour in I expect, which will have to be synned (around 3½ syns per level tbspn).
Lots of people don't understand the logic but it's all meticulously worked out by a nutritional expert.
Just go for it, or should I say 'get stuffed' :rotfl:

Ooh just had a thought Sali_Mali. I know several people who find they store extra water when eating bread (myself included).
It may be worth your while cutting bread out just for a week and seeing what happens!!
