Just 'weighed in' and I have lost 2 lbs this week :j :j :T . Very happy with that result and I have made target for the 2lb club.:D
When OH has had his Father's Day lie in we will be having a full English for Breakfast/Brunch (grilled bacon, Tomato, Mushrooms (fried in Fry light), Poached Egg, beans (b choice)). Might use one of the diposable barbecue things today that have been sat in the cellar for yonks. Thinking about making some homemade burgers for a bbq today, doing some salad and finding any more meat to cook off on the barbie so it definitely is a very red day.
I like katyk's idea of putting £5 per week away in luei of slimming class fees, might try to do that when I can.
Moiracm - I am sure you will do it this time, I've been a returning SW'er for years now but have never had anything like this thread before to keep me thinking about it everyday instead of once a week and I think that is the key for me. Good luck and keep up the hard work!
Lois and SparkyG- hope you have nice holidays.
Consultant 31, thank you for your point about the Fitnesse Bars. I just thought they were similar to Hifi bars but maybe they're not, I will try and have a proper bowl of cereal in a morning in future
Anyway better go and get on with Father's Day pampering for OH (kids a bit young yet to do it all) - thank goodness it's only one day, wouldn't want him getting used to all this!!0 -
Morning All - Happy Father's Day - that's every day in our house
:rotfl:
Welcome Moira - Well done on the weight loss so far, you've done well. As Lois said there is plenty of support and motivation on here so stay tuned!
Well Done Benjacksmum and Katy on their losses this week. A step closer! Benjacksmum - we are having a similar SW breakfast!
Will pop in later to see who is around!0 -

Has anyone tried Hoodia?
I bought some and im on my second day today I took 2 tabs in hope that it would kill my appitite for longer.
Im not sure how to work it yet around sw because you do still have to eat it just supresses your appitite for longer so you aint grazing all day I think,
Yesterday I took a tablet as soon as it arrived lol 10.30am and We didn't have breakfast, then we took another at 2pm and we had a jacket tatie with salad and a necterine before that because we were hungry! I think the mistake we made was not having breakfast. Oh then I had some noodles last night because I need to go shopping for the healthy stuff.
Im really struggling tbh I son't seem to have anything in to make light meals cept salad which gets boring! Any ideas for my shopping list I seem to run out of stuff really quickly cos it doesn't last long I don't buy loads that doesn't save if you know what I mean. I would be fine with sw if I could have healthy food on tap

Hullo all
Just a quickie for me as i'm meant to be tidying..
Honey did you try the frozen-ish grapes and the grapefruit yet? I had a quarter of grapefruit this morning with brekky and it was not as evil as i remember them to be. Also did the frozen grapes yesterday and thought they were weird to start with but got quite moreish when you finish one!
Keep it up all!0 -
Jeni - the first bit of the grapefruit was eye watering! I sprinkled a very little bit of canderel over it the next time - its free as far as I know and it made it a lot better. I thought the grapes were quite nice - bit weird though!
Sharl - what is Hoodia??
I tried clicking on the link - do you have to register to view the forum?0 -
Have you tried pink grapefruit instead of yellow? I find them much nicer and less bitter.Sealed Pot Challenge 5 - #1742 :j0

Hi All,
Well, after all the faffing around trying to decide what was going to be right for me I have joined Body Optima on Slimming World as our local club just closed. Not so bad, I have been eating fruit which is really a first for me as I am allergic to a lot of it - combated the allergy as I had taken a Hayfever tablet and that seems to stave off the swelling in itching a lot but after just 3 days am starting to feel a lot better with all this healthy food in my diet.
I am just doing my shopping list and was wonder where I can get polenta. I can only get the ground stuff in our local farm shop - is this OK? I am on Tesco ONline and they seem to have one made into a kind of loaf - what is this? Sorry, have never used it before. We live really rural so am guessing I would have to get into twon somewhere to stock up on staples, where do I get them all from?
Also, please can I ask what Sauce Flour is. is it the same as cornflour at all?
Can I also ask about the Syns. What is the daily amount you can use? Bit of a sucker for my sauces so if I get rid of these then I might be able to have a chocolate bar - descisions!!
Also, I bought some 'Sugar Free Worms' which are like those jelly sweets, can anyone offer me some advice on the number of syns.
Lastly, does anyone find their weight stabelises the week before their perios. I have always had a lot of bloating and water retention the week before but does anyone find this affects their weight. I usually have to use the loo a lot oon day 2 of my perios to get rid of all the water (sorry, too much info I guess) so any pointers would be appreciated.
Thank you for any advice.0 -
Hi Honey28,
I noticed you sussed the board, introduce yourself when you had a skeg.
Hoodia is a cactus like plant that grows in south africa in the Kalhari desert, they been using it to supress there appitites for years, but a few years ago certain news reporters tried it and they all said it was great, however it hasn't been brought out properly yet I think they are trying to do something with it because it takes 5-7 years for the plant to mature, but there is places that are doing it now because the plant itself can't be patented, although a massive phytopharm has patented something or other.
Here's the BBC article from 2003.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/correspondent/2947810.stm
it's all very exciting and these tablets I have have worked really well today \o/ so far.
You do have to be carefull where you get the tablets from because some claim it's hoodia and it's not, but I did some research and found some companies that have a certificate to verify it is hoodia and the bottle lable contents contain what it says it should etc.....
I got mine from https://www.hoodia-shop.co.uk it arrived 2 days after they sent it out. They did forget to send it out orginally I think, but me been an eagar beaver rang them and checked my order was dispatched and when it wasn't they got straight on it.
Will let you know how i'm getting on with it also my partner is taking it too.

I had a peek but DS wanted on the Internet so I go thrown off!
What confuses me about the tablets you have bought is this - why are you taking them if you are following SW? Surely SW is a change to lifestyle rather than a diet, are you going to take these tablets permanently for the rest of your days? Would you not be better just sticking to SW?
Just my opinion - not intended to cause offence0
