A quick update on my week - had a very naughty and drunken Saturday, but it was loads of fun!! I tried to redeem myself by running a lot and eating well, fell foul of the sainsburys home made cookies on Wednesday (thinking I was missing my weigh in due to a schoool meeting for DD) when my consultant emailed to say she'd wait until 9pm so I could get there to be weighed!! Argh! Foiled! I maintained though, which I think was a small mircale and I am quite chuffed!
This week I am going to be very good - we are out for dinner on Saturday but because I got so drunk last week I really wont be drinking! I have also tried to give up my social / evening smoking habit, and haven't had one since last Saturday (can you see the pattern yet???) - I want that shiny halo - and my 1 stone off - by my holidays at least (3 and a half weeks and counting!), if not more! 2lbs to go.
Right, well done to everyone who lost, CM I am more than a little impressed with your will power!! Hope everyone has a good week! Keep it up Ems!
Misguided maybe, but never really bad!! :A

Hi Honey - we're going to Killarney, which is South West, and the forecasts are looking good at the moment. :)

Well done Jenittels, Ems! and anyone else I've missed that has had a loss this week.

I should be going to RC tonight for the second time, but I've got to go to London for a conference tomorrow, so I'm going to go on Saturday morning instead - should make the first weight loss even better, provided I can find something suitable to eat tomorrow!

    Hi

I lost 2lb this week - I'm really pleased, as that means I'm only 1lb heavier than I wanted to be this time this week. On my hols on Monday, and DD 3rd birthday party on Saturday, so will be naughtier than I have been for a while. However, I'm going to centre parcs - so plenty of cycling, walking and swimming planned!!!!

Dellybelly and Turboshandy - read that you have PCOS - me too. Things are hectic until I get back from holiday - but if you ever want to swap notes or stories, please feel free to email me privately - do we have pm on this board?????

Good luck and well done to everyone else.

    Hello! :hello:

I'm new to the lose weight thread, I went to weight watchers for the first time today, and I feel more determined than I have before to lose weight.

I have been before and chickened out after one meeting, but today I went with my dad who I have been trying to get to go for ages, as he weighs 20 stone and has always been a big fella. He's been on every diet you can imagine and just goes totally overboard, denying himself, so he inevitably has a complete binge breakdown! I thought WW would be better for him and me, as there is more structure and it shows you don't have to deprive yourself - I've just had a lovely lolly out in the sunshine!

Anyway, a few months ago, his blood pressure was sky high and the doc said I can't do anything else for you, that's it. He got a big old shock, but out all the salt in his diet and ours, which helped but he really needs to lose weight. I have begun to put on a lot the past few years, although I did lose a stone when i spilt with my boyfriend (very handy that! lol).

I often look at my dad and now i have begun to think I could end up that way, our eating habits are very similar and stuff like that. Turns out my blood pressure is higher than normal too which is v bad as I am only 25.

So, thought I would come on here and get my foot in the door so to speak :o

hello everyone, sorry i haven't been here since my hello message! :hello:

just thought i'd tell you how i'm getting on... i'm on slimming world which suits me fine, i thought it was a brilliant diet. Every diet i've tried before has only lasted three days at most so i was determined to give it a go. :D

Well i promise you i was a model dieter, not putting a foot wrong all week. i didnt even have my syns most days, although i did go on a pretty big bender over the weekend! i was very excited to go to my first weigh in thinking i'd done really well but it turns out i'd lost absolutely nothing. not even half a pound! no gain either but i was still really disappointed.

I can't work out whre i went wrong for the life of me. can anybody help?

I was green everyday except one last week so have switched to red for this week. my local leader couldnt work it out either, although she did point oiut i hadnt been taking all of my healthy extras. I kept my food diaries last faithfully last week and am trying the SAS thingys this week. i've stepped up the excercise this week too.

    any ideas? :confused::o

    Hi Salli Malli,

Could it be that with all your exercising you are replacing the fat with muscle which weighs heavier? When I attended a class for a few months last year there was a lady just the same who used to get so frustrated she was nearly in tears in image therapy. Then all of a sudden the balance switched and she was losing 2-3lbs a week as the muscle was burning the calories faster, or something like that.

Stick at it, we are all different but eventually we will all get there.

    Best of luck, Ang.

P.S. Don't forget to drink loads too!

Also, all your good work this week may show on your second weigh in and you might have a super loss of 4lbs or more - I've seen that happen too.;)

    Bit uninspiring again today:

Breakfast: Fitnesse Chocolate & Orange Bar (taken it as a B choice as it's only 90 calories?), Banana & tea.
Lunch: Cheese (a choice), lettuce and Branston (1 syn) and 2 slices bread (b choice), can diet cherry coke & cherries
Dinner: Packet Garlic Butter rice & omelette with onions, mushrooms & sweetcorn with 1 tbsp oil to fry in (6 syns) (dh made it without thinking - grrrr)
    Exercise: Tap Dancing - wahey!!:T :j :T :j
Something nice for me: The new Slimming World magazine.

I have dug out my old diary sheets from last year (when I was Slimmer of the month losing 13lbs in 4 weeks!) and will try to menu plan for the next few days then maybe I will be a bit more imaginative.

Congrats to everybody on your inspiring weight losses!
