Oh, Ros, what an awful thing to happen. I hope you get at least something back.
Rachie, as an update to my last post - I was wrong about the oil absorption! I came across it by chance while flicking through a cookbook - apparently if it's deep-fried in the right way, it won't absorb much fat at all. As takeaways go, it's probably not a bad choice.
Happy belated birthday, Cheekymole!Sealed Pot Challenge 5 - #1742 :j0 -
Ros, thinking of you, keep smiling.I haven't got one!0

Lois_Lane wrote:Re misuse or abuse of certain foods, when I started doing SW foods like canned macaroni cheese and spaghetti bolognese used to be free food on green, and I found they made an easy lunch, something I could take to work and heat up in the microwave. It worked for me - I was losing weight regularly. Then SW decided they shouldn't be free foods anymore, and the reason was that people were abusing them - for example making lasagne using liquidized macaroni cheese for the sauce! I know SW isn't based on calories, but can you imagine the number of calories that would be?
Corned beef used to be free on original, which I found quite surprising too, given its fat content. I used to do the SW corned beef quiche as a main meal, probably every other week (and lost weight). But I guess people were eating it by the tin, and wondering why they didn't lose weight
That's exactly right - the answer is moderation in all things!
I have members who've said they lost weight making the corned beef quiche a couple of times a week, and I always tell them to carry on and if/when they stop losing weight, we can reassess the situation.
Incidentally, one lady says, she always pours boiling water over her corned beef before putting it in the quiche and all the fat comes off!!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

My cheesecake is made with sugarfree jelly and fromage frais on a caramel rice cake and it is tormenting me by refusing to set!
