Mirtos and Consultant31 - thanks, I do like water but it's a little boring! I am however a big low-cal squash fan so will do my best to get drinking more of that! I only usually have coffee in the morning and a couple (max four) of cups of tea during the day. Have been drinking more stuff like diet Pepsi, which I'll have to watch.
Consultant 31 - the low fat yogurt I go for is the Tesco Bio Healthy Eating one, which is free. Occasionally I get the low fat natural ones, which have a couple of syns in them - I always count these as syns if I buy these yogurts.
Rachie - Have read up on diabetes and I don't seem to be in the highest risk groups, but have booked an appointment for the docs next week just to make sure!0 -

I remember being about 9st 5lb about the time my sister got married and being warned within an inch of my life by her future MIL not to gain or lose any as she made the B'maids dresses and it was tailored perfectly at that time:rotfl: :rotfl:
Mind you I was 14 at the time and am now the wrong side of 40:o
So much for all my enthusiasm and wonderful starts though - I've only been on the diet for 4 days so far and have cheated (and how) on two of them:mad: .
I need to get myself out of the habit of letting myself cheat at nights. ONce kids go to bed and hubby does too I am usually alone by about 9.30pm and I rarely go to bed before 12. That is nearly always my bad time.
I have considered hypnotherapy but not sure - anyone ever given it a go? It is about £40 per go up here.:eek:0 -
katyk: ok firstly I would say - you're only cheating yourself by cheating - its you thats going to benefit from eating the right things. If you can't stop the munchies at night then why don't you prepare a snack box - cut up carrots or fruit and munch on that - or even those little ice lollies like pear pickin porky/polly pineapple.
or when everyone goes to bed why don't you do half hour of exercise - that'll stop you wanting to eat.
my OH went for hypnotherapy although not for weight loss - it worked for him. you could try one session and see how you feel after that.
come on katyk - we're in this together don't give up!DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Hi
Just got back from my weigh in. I did 10am instead of 6pm as no work today - pleased to bits as I lost 4lb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:j
I have walked my legs off this week, been too ill to exercise, and not working this week - I look after three or four kids at a time so normally spend all day chasing and tidying after them.
I have the All bran pedometer - I have had no problems with mine - It only moves two steps when I pull jeans up and down, but I never put it on until I've been up an hour to take off any over anomolies - and that way I feel confident that the amount of steps is right. (It's a million times better than the walkers ones ever were!)
Two more weigh ins til my holiday - want three pounds off over the two weeks.

Hi Katyk - when you say you've 'cheated' does that mean you've eaten something fattening as a treat? Losing weight shouldn't mean having to deny yourself any pleasure, so the occasional treat is fine. Don't let it spoil your enthusiasm, just remind yourself that you're human - none of us are perfect angels.I need to get myself out of the habit of letting myself cheat at nights. ONce kids go to bed and hubby does too I am usually alone by about 9.30pm and I rarely go to bed before 12. That is nearly always my bad time.
That's my worst time too, and OH is the same so we often find ourselves looking for something to snack on before bed. I know that free food such as fruit or yogurt isn't going to satisfy me, so I make allowances during the day to allow me a couple of crispbread or some toast later on. If you plan it into your day, it gives you something to look forward to. My slimming buddy can't live without chocolate and she always has a funsize treat in the evening, and looks forward to it all day! OH loves savoury snacks, so I make sure we have some Ryvita Mini's in the cupboard (one Healthy Extra B or 5 syns on SW) - add some cottage cheese, celery, apple, and baby tomatoes and you get quite a plateful!I have considered hypnotherapy but not sure - anyone ever given it a go? It is about £40 per go up here.
I tried it and paid a lot more than that for one session - it didn't work for me, but all hypnotherapists are different. If you can afford £40, give it a try - you'll know straight away if you have any faith in it.
I know two people who successfully gave up smoking as a result of hypnotherapy, and there are some similarities, the major difference being that while you might be able to stop buying cigarettes, you can't stop buying food - you have to eat!

p.s. well done to everyone who has posted weight losses :TStart BMI - 38.7 Current BMI - 31.2 Target BMI - 26.30 -
Lois you are a star. Thanks for putting me on the 2lb club list - I felt that same old urge to lose weight as when I first started last year...
SparkyG - what can I say - thank you for the words of understanding - often the best thing about venting is having someone agree with you and you said exactly what I needed to hear.
Money Man Steve - when I started looking around on the site and I was all shy - you asked how I had success with SW - well when ever I have a good week I always eat breakfask and I always plan what will be eaten for the week. I can't explain it but even when I have more than my fair share of syns/treats I lose weight. And feel great. When I stopped smoking I stopped losing weight - there isn't anything like that going on in your life is there?
Bye for now,
