    Hi again

Lost another 2lb this week - so I'd really like to be a part of the 2lb club please LL. That's 10lb in 5 weeks, so I'm feeling pleased at the moment. Had * week too, so extra pleased!:o
I have three weeks til my holiday - and would really like to lose 7lbs - then I'll be the same weight as I was when my daughter was conceived three years ago. :o (Didn't take me long to lose my baby fat did it? :D )

I measured myself again this week, and I have lost between 1 and 2 inches across bust, waist and hips so all the walking and exercising I am doing is paying off. I'm trying to do 70000 steps a week - as I read that 10000 steps a day is what helps to lose weight - but I'm realistic and know I walk more on some days than others, so try to average it for the week, and then do three or four days exercise video for 30 minutes.

Going out to my brothers tonight - so racking my brains for good foods to nibble all night - we normally OVER munch on crisps and garlic bread and sweets!!!! Think I'll cut up some raw veg and make some V low fat dips, and some sea food as planned on a red day. Anyone know the most amount of a low fat crisp for the lowest number of sins? Want to get as much as I can so I don't feel deprived!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done to everyone on their weight losses this week.

    Cathy

Basically today I had my light bulb moment. Although not about money, its about me. I weighed myself today and I'm 15 stone 8 pounds  and at 5 foot 5 that is terrible. I'm writing this out because I think it will help me if I see it in black and white.

It wasn't so very long ago I was 9 stone and a size 10-12 now I'm struggling to get my bum into size 18.

I started putting weight on when I moved in with OH, eating more and exercising - well exercising none. I stayed at around 13 stone for a couple of years which didn't feel tooo terrible (i fitted into size 16), but in the last year and a half the pounds have been creeping on. Then recently I hurt my back and have been off work for 6 weeks and have piled on a stone.

I kinda thought I could post on here cos rather than go to Weightwatchers or something like that, I'd be a true moneysaver and use this thread to encourage myself on.

So from today I aim to eat a lot less and exercise a lot more. Sounds so simple doesn't it.

I will post every saturday what my weight is. And I will also post how much exercise I have taken and if I've eaten any badness. As tomorrow is my birthday I'm sure I will have eaten badness but will endeavour to limit my intake!!

    Wish me luck.

    Sat 27 May: Starting weight: 15 stone 8 pounds.
Short term aim: friends wedding Friday 9 June want to lose 8 pounds.

Wow, loads of new posters. Welcome to everyone.

This thread is great to help you stay motivated, and realise that it's not always plain sailing. We all feel temptation along the way.

Regarding men at classes - i re-joined SW (first weigh in last Monday), and there are quite a few men there. One chap who started the same week as me had lost 8.5lbs in one week!!! He had started walking to work, to help change his life-style. Definitely the way to think of it. Not a diet, but a change in bad habits, to a new way of eating for life - at least that is what i am trying to tell myself. :D
Unfortunately it's a 130 mile round trip for me to the office - so think i will give the old walk to work a miss!!! :rotfl: But OH and i are trying to do more when we get time. Walking and cycling. He has lost nearly 7lbs recently.

I made the mistake of weighing myself on our scales yesterday. It said i had put on weight. I have stuck to SW really well so far, so felt really depressed and wanted to pig out to feel better (for all of 5 mins :o ). But mamaged to stay on track. I am now avoiding scales until Monday's weigh in at class. Even harder than resisting crisps at the mo, cos i want to see if i really have put on. :rotfl:
    What's he building in there???

I have been finding that the idea of varying how much I eat each day as in the Wendie Plan seems to help (although this week there's perhaps been more 'high' days than medium or low ones!) I can't remember who originally posted a link to this - was it Rachie?

Anyway, today my G2 diet book arrived, ordered from Kellogs. More complicated than I remember the F-Plan being, but I think it will help. Don't always manage to get up in time for breakfast at home, so was wondering how I would manage to eat half a grapefruit each morning, but then thought I could peel it the night before and break into segments, and eat as finger food in the car! (DH drives us to work, so not dangerous!)

I had a look at pocketmod yesterday and thought it looked really useful. I watched the video about 20 times and still can't get the folding/cutting right. I must be even dafter than I thought

For those who like their Hi-Fi bars, there's a new flavour, which should be arriving at class this week. It's Cranberry and Yoghurt and it's absolutely gorgeous
I dislike cranberrys normally, so if you're the same, don't let that put you off.

I'm doing the Atkins as the restrictive carb diet really suits my digestion, ( I have Ulcerative Colitis). I've done the diet before and lost weight easily(alright I know I put it back on! ), but this time the weight is going off REALLY slowly, just 6lbs in 5 weeks.

I try and eat healthily, ie. not frying everything and eating all the green veg allowed, and as I said this diet suits me, so I want to stick with it. Any ideas for speeding things up a bit? I'm getting pretty despondant
