One of my pet hates are eBay sellers who add 4 numbers to the end of their username to try and make it look like huge feedback; for example: marysmith1876
Terrible spelling/punctuation and grammar
eBayers who run a shop but are not a registered business seller (usually means they're deceptive)
Photo's of items for sale taken from websites (they're probably dropselling) and have no idea what the quality of the item is really like
Where they've obviously copied the terms and conditions from another eBayer who can spell (I've seen sellers with appaling grammar, but their T&C's are obviously copied from someone else's - who is literate - without their knowledge Deceptive)
Sellers who say they accept Credit Cards when they clearly don't
Sellers with strangely unnerving negative feedback
Sellers who keep changing the price on an item (I've seen an item change price 5 times within 3 days)0 -

Technically they do as you can pay via CC through paypal.0 -
Yes, but I've seen eBayers who say they also accept CC payments besides accepting Paypal etc.
I think this eBayer here with the horrendous negative feedback does:

This eBayer has now gone into fashion - FAMOUS NAME fashion!:rotfl:
She first tried to sell Heinz Salad Cream (said it tasted LOVELY):j But when business was slow she went into the rag trade instead. Don't know how long she'll trade under this name - she usually gets slung off every few months - and then starts up a new account. Can't fail to recognise her writing.:D
Some of her descriptions are worth reading just for the laugh, though she has smartened up a bit recently. The brown suit she's selling has changed price about 5 times in the last 5 days - gone up and down like a tart's drawers. Wish I'd kept her first description where she had it on at £39.99 and in the description wrote it had been on at an 'incredible £3 in the X-Chainstore! :rotfl: Yep, always knew Tesco was a chainstore........................and was X-rated!
She's got a colour blindness problem too - she can't work out what the red'deep pink top is from the picture she's whipped off the internet - so has just described it as an 'unusual colour'!:o0 -

'.....my ***** comes from a smoke and pet-free home...'
Apart from the fact a home is not a home without pets, IMO - it sounds pious, PC & a total bore. Can they not think of anything more useful to say about their products to try & sell them?
Ugh, you can't win! I started adding that to listings as I read a number of people say they assume it is from a smokey home if you don't put it. Are you saying you're PC and a bore if you don't smoke? I mean, really?
I think it's also incredibly infair to say it's not a home without pets. Not everyone can afford them, has the right kind of housing or has allergies. I'd love a dog or cat, but sadly can't.
I spend a lot of time describing every little thing on my items, and that's just one small point to make. Anyway, sorry if you were just joking - and I realise you said that months ago, but I was flicking through the thread and noticed it.
For listings - lack of description, caps lock and bad spelling put me off. Everyone makes typos, but it's quite important to read back through what you've put/spell check it!
I 99% of the time puchase only buy it now items. If I want something, I want it now. I tried putting my listings as buy it now and got no bids, so back to auctions now.
I have seen a few people say they want a returns policy. I keep umming and ahhings over this, but as a personal seller that just gets rid of stuff in the house, I feel it's quite harsh to have to offer a returns policy. A company should definitely do so, but I wouldn't expect personal sellers. I spend a lot of time on my descriptions, with pictures, measurements, every small little flaw detailed etc, I just hope people read it all or ask questions before bidding."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0
