As a buyer what puts you off a listing?

My complete and utter pet peeve on eBay is:
'I will not be held responsible for anything lost in the post' - err yes you, the seller, are responsible for an item that is not received!
That definetely puts me off as I get the feeling they might not send the item then claim they have.0 -
For starters- text speak for description, excessive postage (although charging Royal Mail fee + a little for p+p and fuel is fine), silly terms and conditions that are longer than the description, there is likely more
. Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
Encouragement always works better than judgement.0 -
As someone with low feedback (early 20s now admittedly), it's annoyed me when they say nobody under a certain amount of stars (usually say 5, but seen it much higher) - I get why I do, but nothing like being presumed everyone new is an idiot.
Ones with sob stories - trying to guilt trip people into bidding is just sad, I stop reading and close them.
The ones with like not responsible for lost items always makes me a bit wary, but doesn't put me off completely usually (depending on wording).
People using like size 24 bold text, I've noticed a lot with small job lots do this, I think to make their lot look bigger maybe.0 -
Well, listing a used item without saying the condition - is it 'used once' or 'so old and tatty no one in their right mind would buy it?''Now sir you tell me the world's changed

Sellers who say "HAPPY BIDDING!"
No! There is no happy bidding my end. I want the item, I want it now and I want it as cheaply as I can possibly get it. Bidding really doesn't make me happy at all especially in that last vital minute

I got a new slant on that today. My complete and utter pet peeve on eBay is:

Nothing about it in the listing, I bid and win, then get sent an invoice with it on.
Good job I know it's rubbish, but still- I'd rather not go through paypal claims for a sub £3 item. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

I once emailed a seller who was selling a brand and model of dress that I had been after for some time.
Except I didn't recognise the material that it was made from - so I asked her.
The reply was 'Sorry for the bad photo. It's actually white and it's not made from crinkled silk - it just needs a good wash and iron. LOL'.
LOL? Flippin heck! The dirty beggar!
I must admit that I reported a listing last week. The dress was starting at £4.99 with postage and packing of £54.99. Nice try!
No, my main gripes are with the world-weary ones who
* can't be assed to write a decent description
* who's (single) photo is 90 degrees to the perpendicular
*who tell me not to bother bidding if I'm a time waster
* and who say that they are doing me a favour by wrapping the blessed thing and taking it to a post office - so I should shut up complaining about postage costs.
Right charmers, eh! :rotfl:0 -
