Amazon is so easy!!

Hi BM,
If the edition that you have is not the one that is in the picture you just have to add that info to the details bit. I have listed a book that is a previous edition and have said that it's cheaper to buy the older version that is virtually the same!
It's worth listing it because if it doesn't sell they don't charge you.
Glad everyone else is going to be getting on Amazon ... think I'll pop into my local jumble sale and car boot sale this weekend!!

Hm. Did you try putting in the ISBN number rather than the title? That might bring it up. Unfortunately if it isn't already on Amazon then you can't sell it, but I'm not sure if there is a way to contact Amazon and ask them to list it.
An alternative would be to list it as a newer edition but make very clear in the description with copious capitals that it is an older edition and give the year of publication etc. Hopefully that will be fine, but be aware of the possibility that some dense buyer may not twig, return it and ask for a refund.
(I have listed paperback editions on hardback book listings with no problems, but not an older edition).0 -

Are they good?
unbelievably easy to list, just by the ISBN no. Takes seconds.
Only had one sale in a week, but no listing.
If buyer pays 3.75, seller gets 3.00, 70p to the greenmtropolis, 5p to the woodland trust :j I think its fair & decent. THe book I sold ive listed on ebay repeatedly, it sold first. Will have to wait and see, but Ive been emailing everyone I know about green metropolis, the more people buy, the more will sell :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Very impressed - tha barcode/isbn search feature is excellent.
FAR easier than ebay, hope i get some bites!
The word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.

Hi
I am a bit confused - the site says it charges fees but the earlier poster says no fees? If I pay £2.75 postage, but put a book on for £1.50 - Amazon says I get £2.46 back - I'm probably being dense!Debt:
A big fat zero!

Eunja - I think this post might help?morg_monster wrote:Amazon do charge fees - BUT only when you actually sell the book. If it doesn't sell, no charge. The fees are (for books):
86p per item 'closing fee'
17.5% of the item's sale price
Remember that Amazon give you £2.75 as a postage credit, this is how people are able to sell books for 1p. If the postage is not too much you have still made some cash.
Have a look on the Amazon site, and look at the Marketplace seller FAQs.CCCS DMP:Feb 07

Just a quick one to say that after reading this morning & listing 2 books, one sold immdiately and as I was about to head out the door, the other sold too! After charges and postage I ended up with £4.61 profit, not bad really and have already paid that amount to my egg card
Never would have done that without this site!! CCCS DMP:Feb 07

I was selling books on amazon and didn't really want to put any on for less than a pound. The books I had left over I put on to a website called https://www.readitswapit.co.uk it's free to list you books. You can request any books from other swappers and you get emailed with requests from other swappers with their book list to see if you want to swap with them. It's a great way of getting new books to read cheaply! I have about 25 unread books waiting to be read!£1 a day Christmas 2023 #190 -

Cannot believe it! Just sold a CD album on Amazon!! I kid you not.
Only got £2.38 in total (it was a fairly popular CD so had to be competitive) but hey, if I found £2.38 sitting on the shelf I'd be happy wouldn't I? That's the way I look at it. And I would never have got that on EBAY or at a car boot sale for this CD I know that! (OK minus about 70p for postage but I still have got more than those two other mediums I'm sure.)Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
