Here's my little update.
Last time 07/10
Now 22/10
Having noticed that most of you do the backstitching as you go along i thought i might give it ago - its usually the bit i like doing the most so its almost like a little reward when i nearly finnish a section.....along side the chocolate and cups of tea
After seeing H&E designs on here I have been drooling over the Alice in Wonderland designs....after days of my not-so-subtle hinting my boyfriend has brought me the Mad Tea Party for my birthday pressie. He was even smart enough to get me all of the threads, fabric, new frame, DMC storage bows & folder *squeels*
I must resist Mystic stitch... I think any link posted to charts on here must come with a warning complete with a picture of piled high UFO's - a bit how they do them on cigarette packets.
you are soooo lucky and im not even a tiny bit jealous, honest lol13 in 2013 challenge 9/130 -
If it isn't one thing it's another lately!
For the last 2 days we have had problems with water pressure....so much so that no water came out of the upstairs taps first thing this morning.
Then when I logged on I saw Marias lovely butterfly project and thought 'I need a kit with butterflies on it' so went to google. Soon as I typed in 'Butterfly cross stitch kit' the electric went off!!
I reckon hubby has set google up to pick up the words 'cross stitch kit' and when it detects them it sends a message to my electric co to switch us off for a few seconds :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I had to give up on the butterfly kit in the end because I only have just over £7 of xmas money left and all the kits I wanted were nearly £20!
Nevermind....it's not like I don't have enough new kits in my stash to be getting on with:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
^^Flipping heck, I hope my hubby can't set my google to do that when I search for cross stitch - the leccy would be off permaently!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Wow Sp0z,you are so lucky. I thought my hubby was sweet for offering to buy me a chart from America, but to buy you all the threads, fabric and everything that really is dedication. Awwww how sweet is he!!!! Happy birthday _party_
Loving your butterflies, you nearly tempted me into buying one too!! I settled on a Nightmare before Christmas kit in the end (DS wants it for his bedroom and I really liked the piccy)
:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:0 -
SpOz - i love the butterfly design I'm tempted to buy that kit myself, however I must resist as I've still got a bit of the Holiday Train to do, plus I start my Open Uni course in February and I don't want any destractions.
Shelly - oopps and big hugs. If that was set up on goggle at work, we'd never have any power. Hmmmm
Loving everyones work and will try and post a pic of The Holiday Train later this evening. I've started to do the backstitch and thankfully it's starting to come to life!
HAED designs - I cancelled my order. It will be my treat when I'm debt free and have got my degree!

So far today is ok, water back on and we *should* be going dog racing for 1p with friends tonight!:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
bookadict - i bought the kit as an impulse buy from John lewis - needless to say i was kicking myself when i went to websites recommended on here and saw it was cheaper - shall not be making this mistake again.
Simac - you should do the whole 'oh darn, its only the chart.............*cough*'
Shelly - I love the other design - the other smaller ones look just as good too.0 -
I start my Open Uni course in February

Getting ready to order the materials for my holiday project - see other forum.
Hope all is well in your part of the world

PS The OU is brilliant - I did my certificate in Mathematics a few years ago - they had brilliant support and the work is well structured. If you can be structured in your cross stitch you can do the OU easy. Good luck to the OUers (might do another course one day).:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0
