Louise I was in there after a skein of green and a hoop to put my work in (soo much easier to cross stitch now) and I kept finding kits either I wanted for me, or ones to do for my mum (found a big tiger one she'd love, but I can't justify 50 quid for it!) There was about 4 I loved....but I definitely can't justify 200 quid!
Oh, and can someone advise me on framing. I've got three I need to fram. I found the slot together frames in Hobbycraft, which look pretty simple to put together and a lot cheaper to use, but I was thinking about ironing something like Wondaweb on the back to keep it tidy and make it look nice...wouldn't be too hard to do would it?** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.

So many posts since I was here earlier.
Those lions are magnificent. Look so realistic- nmm.
I love how that bear is coming along -posting.
Thread sorters - thanks Louise, I couldn't remember what they were called.
Today I did a few stitches in my sampler but couldn't do much as I didn't realise that there wasn't enough thread of a certain colour - and I was away from home with it. So I improvised as much as I could and will have to sort it out in the week.
elfen - did you buy any more kits or just browse?0 -

It's a pity they are made by 'Anchor' as their designs always seem to have that backstitch that is 'between the holes' and I often avoid the designs for that reason.Louise I was in there after a skein of green and a hoop to put my work in (soo much easier to cross stitch now) and I kept finding kits either I wanted for me, or ones to do for my mum (found a big tiger one she'd love, but I can't justify 50 quid for it!) Wow...£200  Did you get the name of the tiger one, maybe you can find it cheaper than £50 online?
As for framing - I have never looked at their dept so don't know about slot together frames. Wondaweb on the back though would stop any non-white background showing through the holes, so I do think that's a good idea.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Anglea I can't afford any more kits at the mo. The big one I'm doing for my mum is from TK Maxx for 12 quid instead of just over 33!
Lou I had that idea cos I can't think of any other way to stop all the untidy stitching at the back showing through. I'll probably wondaweb the backs, get the click together frames and staple it all down (or get funky drawing pins and hold it in that way)** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

 TKMaxx sell cross stitch kits??? I never thought of looking in there. Thanks for the tip I will definately be popping in there next time I'm in town :T
*Louise* I hadn't made the connection before but you are right about the Anchor kits. All the ones I've done with fiddly backstitch in between holes were kits by Anchor. The forever friends one drove me daft! I shall keep an eye on the manufacturer I choose in future!!!:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:0 -

Everyone's stitching is looking amazing as always. :T
I'm starting in Feb, living in a Globaslised world. Once I've completed this course, I'll have two more to do then I've got my degree in Business and Economics. Then I'll have a year off and start another degree, it's certainly addictive.
