Progress!
Almost but not quite half way - I am really not looking forward to the backstitching on this one. It is so complex it has a chart of its own:rolleyes: I have been backstitching the leaves and the flowers as I go along but it is the whipped back stitching on the stems I am not looking forward to.0 -

So slightly later than planned, but here is the stitching I have managed to do since my last post (i think about a month ago). As you can see I needed a break from the tablecloth - roumanian stitch is hard work and I cannot find the threads I require so will have to order some anchor threads.
Have been using up my threadds and scrap aida to make xmas cards - the more of the threads I use up the closer I am to being able to stock a complete DMC folder - everyone has to have a dream....
Have done a little on the table cloth as you can see and will be working on that this evening, but first to bid on some evenweave and the anchor threads required...0 -

Hi everyone! Just got back from a few days away in Southsea. Took my stitching with me and silly me forgot to take the magazine that the chart is in! Duh! Shame as I could've got a fair bit of stitching done.
I went to the Ally Pally show on Thursday. It was ok, but far too much 'other' stuff there. I don't see how a knitting & stitching show can have so many stands that have nothing to do with either hobby. A vacuum cleaner (or floor steamer? Didn't pay a lot of attention), eco bags, leather handbags, clothing....what a waste of shopping space! Surely the majority of people are looking to buy knitting or stitching stuff??? If I wanted general shopping, I'd go to a market. £10 to get in and only a handful of stands that I actually thought were worth looking at. Grrr!
I bought some pillow kits from the Nimble Thimble (that I had ordered from her when I visited), some little gold frames for hanging on the xmas tree, some fabric and a strange framing thing. http://www.sewitall.com/products/cross-stitch-supplies/framing-needlework/grip-n-frame-framing-cross-stitch.aspxCross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Yes I thought that last year. Too many of the stall holders were complaining about the cost of the pitches and that it wasn't economic to do the shows anymore. TBH that is part of the reason I didn't drag myself up to London thsi year. From the West Country it is an expensive day out. I stopped going to Olympia a few years ago for much the same reason. I hear it was busy though?0 -
*Lousie* there is a heap of swags to do all around the centre and the edges and I dont have all the threads for it yet (Don't know where my Gran hid them!). Feel guilty as done nothing today just lazed around when i got home from work instead of at least sewing a thread, must be more disicplined after all 70ish days to Xmas and three projects (large) to complete by then.0

Och, don't feel guilty - can't beat a little break before getting stuck back inCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I certainly wouldn't bother from the West Country (whereabouts, by the way? I have family there), but as I live in London I thought I'd go along. Think I'll leave it next time as it's not worth the ticket price. It was busy there. Lots of school girls too, which I thought was odd, but maybe they had a school trip to the show. I'm glad I bought something, but I think an online shopping spree would've been just as fun.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
