Sorry, not been on here for a few days (the internet has been playing up!). All the UFOs are looking great, I shall wait a few more days to post my photo as I haven't been as dedicated as I probably should! I need to catch up.

Good luck for the op MrsM, hope everything goes well and you are stitching again soon.
:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:

Isn't it amazing that the simplest things in life give the most pleasure?

When stitching I usually do a full x before going onto next x and never worry about if the stitches all end up crossing over in the same direction. I just do each x and not think about it really.
    That changed this morning!! :rotfl:

I was needing to stitch a row of about 25 x's but wanted to end up back at the start of the row as more stitches of the same colour were just a couple of blocks above.
I thought the best way to do it was to do the row as half x's then come back to finish the x....rather than my usual willy nilly style of doing the full x's :D

Well the end result looked fantastic!! So much neater and tidier. So good infact I unpicked a few bits and pieces of the sampler and re-did them.

I'm sure most of you ladies...if not all....already do your work like this so I just wanted to say I am converted! :rotfl:

Also I have now received all 7 kits from e-bay that are my xmas presents so as soon as I can get pics sorted I'll post them.

I remember looking at one of my first pieces of cross stitch and thinking how much neater I stitch now. It really does make a difference, doesn't it?
Looking forward to seeing pics of your new stash!

I haven't done any stitching since I posted my last update :(

I'm missing it, but I had a ton of paperwork to get through, and I'm working away on Fri till Sun

So any update at the end of this week is going to be a bit pathetic.:o I shall have to content myself by admiring everyone else's work.;)

    Very much so!

I still can't figure out though how more avid/perfect stitchers can get the back of their work as neat as the front.
I guess on projects that have big blocks of one colour it's easier but mine so far have lots of small blocks of colour so always stopping and starting.

    Evening all

ooohhhhh all the crosses have to cross the same way -its an unwritten law :o...I assumed everyone did it :rotfl:
Its freaky because when I moved my hoop on Monday I noticed that was something was wrong and sat ages scratching my head and then spotted that for some strange reason , when I had started "forest light" my first 9 stitches had been done opposite to my normal way ..so those had to be unpicked and put in the right way :D
I know it is down to my head problem... I quite often register numbers back to front so will see £3.52 as £3.25 and the like but this last couple of weeks other things seem to be happening.... like the stitches, and I always sit at the end of the sofa where my right arm is on the arm -so click the recliner with my right hand -but I now keep trying to recline with my left hand -keep sticking my hand down the cushion :rotfl:, I just hope when I have my op I don't get stuck with doing my x's backwards

My mum is one who has work sooooo neat the back is almost like the front :p.... Im not bad -but Im not THAT good ;)
I have done some more of forest light -although Im "baby sitting" a 4 month old cocker spaniel for 2 weeks -so Im up n down a bit more ...

Mum has forwarded my bargains from wimblebees - so I have more goodies now -not that Im starting anything else of course :A
Right back for a bit more sewing as the puppy dawg is having another nap :j

You made me smile MRSMC saying you had to unpick 9 stitches. I had to unpick a whole row today to get to one 'bad' one (it crossed the wrong way) :D

A 'stitches-have-to-be-the-same-way-from-now-on' monster has been created :rotfl:
