Sammr85 well done on finishing your UFO. I take my hat off to you for doign a Winnie the Pooh kit, I've tried on numerous occasiona to do one but always end up throwing it across the room in frustration - I'm not sure why!

My UFO's are coming along nicely. One my computer is fully back up and running, I'll post some pics.

I'm taking Dolly's Stroll to be framed this weekend. I just have to figure out where to hang it!

Thanks for posting the gorgeous photos ladies, love them all.

Those birth samplers are really sweet, the little girl's one is lovely, I feel like making one just for the design, not as a sampler.

Misty Blue, that 'must have' of the lady with the fur stole - I wonder if you will give in? It' would be a brilliant picture to hang on your wall.

Superstitions.. When I was growing up we always had peacock feathers in some sort of displays round the house. The only thing I would be wary of is that painting where it's said that fires always seem to occur in the households that have a copy of it. Can't remember now what it depicts - a child I think.

Caravans - I knew gypsy families with the old fashioned caravans and they'd ask me to go with them to the big summer camps in Europe but I was never allowed by my parents -so for me they were good signs - and still are. I get very nostalgic whenever I see pictures of them.

I'm making 'slow but steady' progress with my UFO. This reminds me of the comments on a school report LOL

Hurrah - finiished all the pink flowers, and have just been in the loft to find the next set of threads (trying to decorate so safest storage pace for alot of stuff at the moment). Also found another UFO of a tiger so going to mix and match between as if I remeber rightly it has been across the room in frustration many times.

Well, I got bored this afternoon so decided to have a go at the outlining on the UFO that is Ruby's xmas present. I am pleased with myself to report.....I am done!! :T
At least I think I am done. Admittedly I didn't do all the outlining that the chart suggested because I thought it was too much and I also modified the bits I did do a little bit. I have done what looks to me like just enough though.
Going to ask hubby tonight what he thinks and then hopefully get it framed asap.
I'll get a pic if I can and post it.

Now the question is.....what to start next  :rotfl:
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

I have had to pause on my big piece for a little while so I can run up a small pic for a friend - it's a door hanger for her son's room, so shouldn't take me long.

Well, decided just to continue on with the alphabet. As MrsMac says you can always cover it with the mount. Also, I could try the lemon juice trick as recommended in the tips sent by shelly. Will try and post pics once a week to let you know how it is going. Thank you all for all your encouragment and support - its nice to know you are out there.

Hope all is getting on well with their stiching.

    Kind wishes

*Louise* -that is coming along brilliantly -Im loving the lovely muted shades too :T
Here is my update for the week:-
    last week :-

    Today :-
    inher15aug.th.jpg
Im nearly there -I'd say 2 weeks tops -if I carry on as I am..then it will be ready to wash -before I get onto the backstitch, couching and cording
My Celtic lady is next to be finished and then, well I went in my stash last night thinking "I should do one of those before buying anything else" and well bloomin eck if I didn't come across a big piece of even weave -having measured it -I must have got it for doing the orange lady as its spot on :j-so Im going to order the threads I don't have (54 out of 80) and then I will be all set to move onto that one .... I do have some of the 54 threads -but I don't think there will be enough -so I figured I may as well order them "just in case".....
Its lovely seeing everyones UFOs getting done .....
Rigth -back off to my sewing.... hope everyone is well -and gets some time to sew over the weekend :D

    ^^great progress.

Do you not do the backstitch as you go along? I would never go back to it if I had to do it all at once at the end.

Sounds like you're getting all prepped for your next work....where do you buy your threads from? It's going to cost a fortune if you need to buy them all at once.
