I wouldn't give it up completely, more like put it away and forget about it for awhile. I have very nearly finished one for a xmas present that I started years ago. I got bored very quickly because the hedgehogs back was confetti stitching. All I have left to do now is the outlining.

    Little help please???

I forget the sizes of fabrics when converting between them.:o

My next piece is 16 x 12 inches on 25ct evenweave. I want to do it on 28ct instead, and trying to work out how much bigger it will be.

Is there some trick to remembering the size differences?

    Hi Louise

Are you wanting to do it on 28ct -over 2 threads? if so you want to do
16X25 then divide it by 14 (28ct over 2 threads) so i get that to be 28.5" X 21.5" rounded up so you would want fabric of at least 34.5" X 27.5"
    Hope that makes sense....

Just in case that isn't clear -and so you can use it again...
you multiply the inches by the HPI count it should be done in and then divide the answer by the HPI count you want to do it in
    -6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.5

^That sounds about right - thank you :)

It was the evenweave/aida sizes that were confusing me

Slight delay now while I order some fabric that is big enough.

I have gone for 14ct aida which is 39x32 inches

I figured it would be easier to stitch on than evenweave, and as the whole fabric is covered with stitching, you won't see the difference anyway.

Now to buy one of those fabric marker pens.......

Well I have had a couple of good money saving results the last couple of days.
I was looking at a tool box type storage box so that I could have all my sewing and xstitch stuff in one place but the size I wanted was £35!
No way was I paying that so had a re-think and I have now commandered the footstool that goes with the sofas!
It has a lift up top with storage but we didn't really use it to store anything in.
All my stuff fit in a treat though the new frame I bought has to go in at a slight angle.

Next one was this morning I remembered we have a little shop in town that sells materials and sewing stuff. I called them to see if they sell the marker pens I am after.
The one with disappearing ink is £2.50 and the one that washes out in cold water is £2.10 so not only are they cheaper than I could find online but I have saved the postage too! I'll get one of each on Friday when in town to see which I prefer.
The lady also told me that she herself uses the one that disappears but she finds its gone in a couple of hours. No big problem though, I just won't mark as many stitch places as I might have done.

Sorry to ramble but I'm pleased with myself......

.....yes, I am easily pleased :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
