My order for 'Heaven and Earth's 'Vision at the lake arrived today from Wimblebees...

    C-H06-HAECV009.jpg

    Oh....my....word.....

It is 24...yes 24 pages long (A4)!!! And the chart is all in black and white symbols ( looks pretty hard to follow) I'm not sure whether to tackle it now or not :o

On a more positive note....took a pic of 'Galatea' so far..

I prefer black and white charts -its the coloured ones like Im working on now that Im not happy with :D
Im sure you will be fine with it ;)-how many threads does it use? and is there any blending of threads?
My order from wimblebees arrived at mums today :j-but I have told her she may as well kep them at her house until we visit at xmas -Im not going to be starting them for ages anyway. Im hoping the 2 I ordered from "sew along" arrive soon -only because I want to nosey at them -Im not going to get to start them for a while

Oh my goodness! 24 pages? My current one is 15 pages and it's HARD! I would photocopy it several times and colour in the squares as you go. I found it was only way I could follow the chart. Also, there's a pen you can buy which you use to draw on the fabric. It washes out very easily, but I've found it very useful. My friend told me about it last year and I used it for a Dolly Mamas kit and found it made it easier. I drew the divider lines onto the fabric, so it was easier to jump to a different section, plus you can keep check of your position better. Hobbycraft sell them and I think they're only about £2.

I love the fabric you're using for 'Galatea'. It really suits the design. She's coming along nicely.

I've done an hour or so on Crisp Afternoon, but need to jump in the bath now, then start getting ready for We Will Rock You tonight. :j

MRSM - I can't believe you don't like coloured charts, I find them much easier to follow - you must like things complicated lol :rotfl:I'm sure you will keep your mojo for now - it does help being able to post updates and get encouragement, doesn't it :)

Jinty - PML @ 'help ma boab' not heard that in ages :rotfl::rotfl:

Ruth_honey - Yeah I will need to make copies - I would go daft if I lost one of them lol. I usuually colour in sections of b&w charts before I start so I can follow them easier. I will look out for that pen you mention, sounds handy. I bought the gridded DMC fabric (grid lines that wash off after you finish) but it's too small to use for that pic.

The fabric for the mermaid is calle 'stormy seas' which was the one recommended on the website when I bought it, I really like it. :)

That sounds great and just what I need :rotfl:
When I was doing the hedgehog on my current UFO I lightly marked with pencil where each stitch needed to go because it was like your Crisp Afternoon.....stitches all over the place. Though because the hedghog was all dark browns and reds you can't see the pencil marks.
Though for light coloured stitches I wouldn't dare use a pencil.

Do you know what the pen is called so I can google it and get myself one?

    Thanks

    Louise -
I have always been odd :rotfl:same as I prefer the charts with smaller symbols on :confused:the 2 tigers I did had HUGE symbols on and really irritated me..I think I must need therapy :rotfl:mind at least with the heaven + earth charts it makes them cheaper than if I wanted the large print versions :D
Looking at that pic -me thinks I might have to do that one -its lovely -I think the thing with it will be that once you have done the 2 figures it will be lots of work without being able to "see" anything - with lots of other pics you think "ooh I wil just do that eye " or whatever..with the lake one its gonna be "oohh I will do a bit of green" :p

I'm pretty sure it was this one... (top left-fabric marker)

Mine was from Hobbycraft, though. And I tested it on some scrap fabric first, but it came off the Dolly Mamas piece really easily in cold water.
