^^No wonder, the Noah's ark one is my favourite as well, it looks lovely :D

Thanks. Looks like a lot of work but as its what I call 'blocky' and not stitches all over the place I think it will be a pleasure to stitch.
I'm funny with choosing kits because I don't really go looking for a particular subject, I just know what I like when I see it.
After I bought the Noah's Ark yesterday I done a quick google for 'noahs ark cross stitch' and there are some really nice ones out there but it's not a kit I would have individually searched for IYKWIM?

Ruth_honey - I can see the difference - honest!! :D That tree does look a bit fuller. I think I would have flung that one by now,:o it looks so frustrating!! Btw - what size is it, just so I can get a perspective on it?

I love the Bras, really comical - where did you get the design for that one? Is that the marker pen you have used for the grid lines?

Thanks Louise! It felt like I had done loads more, but looking at the picture, I was disappointed. But knowing someone else can see the progress makes me feel better. The stitching is 14" X 22" (approx 36 X 56cm), so it's quite big. I have to keep moving the frame around as I don't have a frame big enough. Mind you, I have another project lined up which is even bigger! Here's the link to the pic if anyone wants to see...

It's a map stitched in blackwork of the real counties of Britain. I've got lots of black thread ready and I've bought the fabric (although where I've put it, I can't quite remember at the moment), but I'm not quite ready to stitch it yet. It's gonna be a task! :rotfl:

I've stitched some more on the Bras today. EdinBRA is now finished and I've stitched some of the dividing lines and titles. It's such a fun design, and just what I need to give myself a break from Crisp Afternoon. I bought it from Stitcher.co.uk, but lots of other websites sell it too. I also have the Cakes and Boots ones. But I won't be buying any more after seeing how many kits I have to stitch!

Yes, that's the marker pen I used to grid the aida. I think I started stitching end of Feb/March, so hope it comes out ok after so many months! I'll let you all know...

It will, although I have no idea at all where I'll hang it! I spotted it in the background on a Jane Greenoff DVD and managed to track it down in some old issues of magazines. It's very striking, and hopefully being blackwork it won't take as long as my current 'labour of love'. I think I started Crisp Afternoon in September 2004!!! But I have done a lot of other stitching since then, including a baby blanket. I haven't told my mum that I'm back stitching it again, so hopefully it'll be a very nice suprise for her when she gets it back all finished.

I ache from sitting on the sofa stitching all day. I forgot to eat lunch until gone 3:30pm... It's nice to get the stitching bug back, though. I think DH has forgotten what I look like. All he sees is my frame and the back of my stitching. :rotfl: Off to bed for me now. Night all!

It's odd how some designs just grab you, isn't it? There are some things I've bought and I wouldn't have thought I'd like them, but I do. And some kits stitched up look far nicer than they do on screen, or in the shops.

What, no cover kits or small cards to work on while you wait? ;) Have you got all your threads organised for the new project?

(I really *am* going to bed now as DH is getting grumpy...LOL!)

Everything ready to go - threads all on thread card, sections of the pattern coloured in.

I haven't worked on a small kit because I didn't want to add to my UFO's if my fabric arrives before I completed it :)

I am going to have an early (ish) night now then watch out the window for the postie tomorrow lol

I must admit when moving all my kits the other day into my new footstool storage there were a couple that I looked at and thought 'what on earth possessed me to buy that one?!'
Though they are nice designs to look at I just don't fancy stitching them anymore. I'm sure I'll do them one day though, they won't go to waste.

And a couple I am going to modify to my taste. I have a Winnie Pooh and Friends and they look like they are in a picture frame. The background and frame are both quite dark colours so I am going to change one of the colours, maybe both.
Also I have a design of bears in a ballet class. I am going to bling up their tutu's with sequins! :D

It's good to customise your designs, as then they're totally unique to you.

We should all try and get 3 kits from our stash that we wouldn't want to stitch anymore and meet up somewhere for coffee/tea and an exchanging session! :T
