Just got my latest statement from Monument. They used the £10 cheque I sent them for my SAR to pay off part of my balance. I am now going to write to them reminding them that they have 15 days left of their 40.

I did't think we'd had any bank charges in the last six years, but it turns out it's around £500.
Ive just spent the last twenty minutes going back through my online statements, back as far as July 2002 - total £495!!! didnt think it would be that much! Cant wait to get my other 2 years worth of statements, then TSB here I come!!You're so very special, I wish I was special :dance:0 -
I was just wondering, has anyone successfully claimed further than 6 years?

Didn't see it that way. Good point. Thanks. I got annoyed because they are taking so long to provide the data. It gave me the feeling that the are going to drag this out as long as they can. That's 25 days now since they signed for the letter and 18 days since they cashed the cheque.wannabedebtfreebeth wrote:Why are you upset? - they have just given you your £10 back - I would call that a good start!!0 -

I sent a really nice letter to my NatWest branch manager, had a quick chat with him when he rang me about it, then 2 days later received a letter from him detailing the charges since January 2000, broken down for each year, with a figure of how much I've already had refunded by shouting at them (£695!) and the total is....£2151.91! Just been into the branch to leave a nice "give me back my money" letter and picked up the statements that he used to do the work for me!
NatWest are getting better (well, my branch & this chappie are, anyway!)
(Best bit is seeing the charges go down - 2004 £1392, 2005 £189, 2006 nil!)
