I sent a letter to Nationwide about a £30 charge on my account, and got it refunded as it was apparently my first 'offence!'

Since then I have been searching through old statements for any charges but can't find any!! I think its because whenever I saw myself about to go overdrawn I'd stick all my spending onto a credit card! Grr! I have been telling everyone I meet to claim back their unfair bank charges!

Good luck to everyone persueing claims at the moment, its great to hear about the success stories. Isnt it unbelievabl we trust these people with our money day in day out! I can understand now why my grandad kept all his money in the bread bin in the larder! :rotfl:

Yes lots of people on the BAG website, have a look there, and ask about your mortgage,Id guess it would be against the T&C's of the mortgage though

I've been through my statements and found that I've been charged £600 in 3 years. Sorry I need a bit of clarifying from someone - do I add the interest charged on the OD in the letter too? Thanks in advance!

Make sure you use the official letter in the BAG library.
they are designed to be legally compliant and are worded very carefully. To be honest, I wouldnt bother to ask around here, jsut log onto the BAG where they know thier stuff and are leading from the front

    All the best xx

According to the Bank Action Group, this could happen. You should be prepared for that and have another account ready for use (referred to as parachute).

why dont you check out the threads for RBOS on the Bank Action Group Forum to see if they have done this in the past or better still post this question there as they have more experience.

There is no OD on this account so they cant just close it can they.. Also if RBS where i have my OD ask for it all back - im in no position so what will i do then?

Thanks for this thread southernscouser. I have sent a letter to Capital One today requesting all information from the last 6 years. I have statements for the last year and it comes to £100 in charges, so I would expect it to be a few hundred. Plus my husband has a credit card with them also, so will get a letter sorted for that one tomorrow. Roll on the 40 days so I can see how much they owe. Have a few other accounts with other banks to start on then, anyway I will keep you all updated.
