Don't worry its not £5 per statement, but £5 for the lot. Half the cost of the £10 suggested on the Bank Action Group forum!!"I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0

Well.....
I phoned up Barclays about a month ago and just asked for the total of charges on my account for the last 6 years. Statements for the last year. The guy asked why. "Oh", I replied "Just interested to know"
He then went off for ten mins and said it would take to long to add upSo i asked them for the last 6 years worth. They sent them too me F.O.C. I was grinning at this point.
So I calculated to around £950 and sent off a first, nice letter. Got one back saying well no u cant have all your money back BUT we are willing to give you £300 to go away. So I wrote back a nice letter telling them it wasnt good enough and I wanted it ALL by end of play next Monday or I would be filling charges next day (I have enough on cc to do this)
So, so far so good.
However Egg owe me like £200 but i have a loan with them and I cant really afford to pay back a 4k loan in 30 days, but I may just try itThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Ok...Not mine but OH's...
Have already sent of intial letter to Barclays which received the standard...'We'll pay you half..' reply....
Have just sent of the letter before action 3 days ago and are now sat waiting with baited breath!
Bit worried that we will have to go to court and have absolutely no idea how to do this but have seen something about a bank buddy and so might look into that...Have heard that will also need to do the 8% interest bit, if Barclays fail to pay up before court!
Just a matter of waiting now....

I've also sent off my DPA letter to Abbey, recorded, yesterday.
Also opened my parachute account at the Woolwich in case they play nasty and close the account.
I paid nearly £1000 last year alone so god knows what it's going to be after 6 years!!!!
I am going to sever my cases if it's a lot so that I can claim in the Smallclaims as don't want to be responsible for costs 'if' I lose.
Bit terrified if I do have to take them all the way to court though - but I will do it - Just have to try and make freinds with a solicitor to talk me through it - lolNoli nothis permittere te terere

Not one case has come to court yet, every single bank has coughed the money before its got to that stage.
Can I remind everyone that they should be logging thier dates, and progress on the BAG website, and using all the specialist and experienced knowledge there, adn sharing our own experiences of the letters were recieving and so on. they need to keep track of changes in letter format and wording and so forth so they can give the best advice, and also to have a record of whosed had what back. I cant stress this enough, its so important that they know whats going on
All the best for everyone again, and please do add to the BAG forum.
Ps Im also sending off claim letter to co-op today for 157.01. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
