Pammy your graph is inspirational. :T

Now I just want to get my building work finished so I can start OPing properly.

And, coming a bit late to the discussion, I hope you've let go of your friend's comment. Everyone's different, and all of us on here have friends who would think we were crazy if they knew what we were up to. I've only told one friend what I'm planning to do once I get going - and she's the only friend I've got that I know is OPing her own mortgage, so I knew she would understand.
    Starting again 13/4/19
    Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99
    Total owed: £28,801.49

Thanks Lois, yeah we all have our own views on things and whats right for one is not right for others. On watching the prog on poor kids the other night I am even more grateful for what we have here and what I am actually able to do.

Hi Radish, Sorry I been AWOL, havent really had much to say on the mortgage front at the mo.
Have added more things on fleabay in the hope to make more dosh on there rather than doing lonnnnnnnng boring surveys!
I have put onepoll as my home page now instead of here :o (sorry mse lol) as I kept forgetting to check it, so that reminds me.

Kids are pulling more money out of me, this week is their schools 300 year celebration. So tomorrow is mufti and they need to take a tombola prize in each for that and then they have a street party so they needed to take in food for that. DD is now doing chores each day to earn pocket money again as she wants to save for blue nose friends (like tatty me to you bear) DS2 doesnt want to do it so DD is getting £1.50 a week. We will see how long it lasts.
They have also started going cubs again, both of them so that will be about £16 a month plus money for trips they do. there is already a weekend camp trip planned. I wanted them to do something as they have stopped all the other clubs as they got bored.

Went to my first prep course for Home start volunteering. there were 7 of us in total and seems a really nice bunch. Cant wait for next monday. Have some homework to do too.

Sorry I havent popped into peoples diaries :o Hope you are all getting on fabulously :D

I am really slacking on keeping my diary updated.
It has been two years (yesterday) since I started this diary. Where has the last year gone, it didnt seem that long ago that I stated it had been a year!
A lot has changed since I started this diary but as I am at work I havent got the details to hand so will update later on. I was going to start a new diary to mark the occasion but as I am not writing as much these days I am better to keep this one I think.

Homestart course is going well, did the 2nd week this week. 4 people from last week werent there, 2 of them have dropped out and 2 couldnt make it. Another 2 ladies joined as well.

Kids are doing cub scouts now, they have done their trial and have a camp wkd end of july which costs £60  Plus I need to get their uniform which isnt that cheap. DD has a 3 day trip with the school where she needs jogging bottoms so I need to buy her some as she doesnt wear that sort of thing and DS2s are too small for her. This is frustrating as they are only going to get ruined and probably thrown away!

Ebay is doing well, have sold quite a bit and added a few more things on there. Keep spending the profit tho on things I need (not want lol) so at least saving that way.

3 weeks until we have our caravan hols at Kessingland Beach, really looking forward to the break. Have put money aside for that so we have £200 spending money and 2 day trip vouchers from mr t :D Will take a lot of food shopping with us.

Went to try and give blood again yesterday but my iron was too low again. Should be 125 or more and it was 112. I have been trying to eat iron rich food but apparently as I drink tea that takes up to 50% of the iron intake. So I am going to try and not drink tea with food, and cut down to only have 3 cups a day. 1 when I get to work, 1 when I get home and 1 in the evening about 8 or 9. I dont know how its going to last as I like my comfort cuppa. My friend suggest trying to drink hot water cooled as its similar comfort. I might try that. Put a bit of squash in it like a lemsip lol.

As you can tell doing this at work means we are not that busy at the moment and the boss has left me in charge of the office until my colleague gets in around 11. Got a letter from the school about the teachers strike next thursday. our school is closed. I cant afford unpaid day off or another holiday and I cant swap my day off due to homestart course so I might have to take the kids into work with me. luckily they allow me to do that sometimes. I must remember to book holiday club for summer hols in the next week or so.

WOW I have written an essay! Sorry folks :o

Hope your iron levels pick up hun, try and eat iron rich foods and have a glass of OJ with it.

Are the school strikes national? I've heard a couple of people mention them but as I don't have school age children not really that up to date with it!

Good to have you back, don't stay away soooo long!

Hi had my 2 year anniversary last weekend too Pammy. I did a post which was really intersting as my mortgage has decreased a lot more than i was giving myself credit for.

Nice to see you posting. Must be manic for you at the minute getting the kids sorted with scouts and school. You might be best with primark or one of the supermarkets for trackies for your DD. I got my DS some for PE from asda for £4. Just plain black ones with elastic at the legs and waist. Then you won't care too much if they don't get worn a lot.

I've done well today and only had 1 cuppa today, about to have another one while I have a break and browse on here :)

So as I said I wanted to keep a track of my progress, having looked back through my diary there are parts I cant find so this is what I have found -

    So it started at
    Feb 2008 - £90,000 - MFD - Feb 2032:mad:
Jan 2009 - £88,100 before OPing was even known about
    Dec 2009 - £83,088 (reduced term by 7 years)
    Jan 2010 - £82,327 - EMFD July 2023
April 2010 -£79,999 - EMFD - Dec 2021 (reduced the term again in feb when went down to SVR)
    Oct 2010 - £75953- EMFD - Aug 2021
    Dec 2010 - £72997 - EMFD - April 2021
    May 2011 - £67181 - EMFD - Sept 2020:D

My OP progress so far since I started this journey -
    2009 - £3,500
    2010 - £6,288
    2011 - so far £3,750

It is so amazing to think that I didnt even know about OPing and could still be blissfully unaware as a lot of families are.

Well done pammy, it really is mind blowing that the term has reduced by 12 years with just 2 years of oping.
