Ms_London i for one always like to hear you talk about your plans, it really does remind all of us with still a long way to go that if we put our mind to it and have an end goal in sight we can make our dreams a reality.

Weight is a funny issue, due to my eating disorders i have been every weight since my late teens from 5 stone to now just over 13 stone and i know that i am happier now being this heavy than i ever was. Yes i would like to be slimmer but mainly i want to lose the weight due to health problems. My OH and i have been together for nearly 16 years he feel in love with a 7 stone excercise fanatic who ran miles every night but i was soooooooo unhappy. Now he loves me more than ever, he has never put me down and is still attracted to me and that really helps, as he says when he looks at me he sees the same person he feel in love with weight or no weight. He was there when my eating disorders where at their worst and he would prefer me to be bigger for the rest of my life than to be that skinny again and unhappy. Not that i am saying i need him to feel sexy and attractive and happy. I don't i am happy with myself and i like myself even when i make bad decisions but yes a supportive loving family or friend can just add to that.

Our weight is often a symptom of something else so to really find happiness we sometimes search for we need to focus on the cause not the symptom.

Losing the odd pound here and there to fit into something will always be a constant thing and there is no harm in it. I hope to lose at least 3 stone maybe more. But i will do it carefully, in a healthy way ie no diets, and having as much fun as possible.

Sorry for the ramble i am in a bit of a philosophical mood today...............must be the lack of chocolate :rotfl:

    Well said Queen B!!

Ms_London......I was a serious backpacker in my younger days (god that makes me sound ancient!) and can tell you that you will lose LOADS travelling!!! Oz is so hot that you just don't feel like indulging and tend to eat healthy veg and fish and things along with drinking loads of water.....oh ok, and wine.....also, life as a traveller there tends to be so active that you will get tons of exercise.

I'm jealous....I want to go travelling again!!!!

Uuuh I was feeling really down so headed in to town to meet up with some friends and hang around. I noticed on the way in to town that I bit my tongue so my mouth is a bit sore on one side now but never mind. It's really inspirational to see my friends who are honest about stuff, even if it's not what you want to hear. I think next time I get the urge to eat something I shouldn't I'll just picture the group of us and remember that I'm still the group fatty, that should hopefully put me off. One of my closest friends is half my size but taller, he's a total inspiration but probably doesn't know. He's the harshest of everyone I know and has no problems telling me to lose weight and does whale noises and stuff lol, I really should hang out with him more often! He's such a fantastic laugh! I enjoyed a great afternoon that cheered me up so I'm felling a bit better now and more on track. I've got to be extremely strict this week to make up for my sin so I'm going to have tuna mayonnaise for the rest of the week.

Anyway you guys thanks for the encouragement but I wasn't sick earlier, I just tried to but I can't do it, it's really nasty :( Remembering that feeling next time I go to eat something will help too I think.

Regardless of what some of you think about me (no names), my weight loss target is 5 stone and so far I've only lost 6lbs so I've got A LOT to go. I think you guys are all a bit older than me so probably don't realise the pressure that you're under not to be fat - and despite some comments I was just reading - it's not just a woman thing. Blokes can't be fat either and do get ridiculed if they are - especially when you go out a lot and do young people stuff. I'm fedup with being the only fatty and if I can't control a simple urge not to push a kitkat in to my mouth then that pretty much explains it, I feel I've let myself down more than I've let you guys down which is worse I know :(

Ho hum, back on with the program I suppose :-\

I think everyone in the western world feels the pressure not to be fat regardless of their gender or their age....

Not sure how old you are Amosworks but i am only 29, and i do remember how much pressure there is out there. I am 5 ft 2inches and nearly all my friends are taller and thinner than me, alot thinner than me considering i am 13 stone, but NONE would ever make noises or call me names, sorry but if they did i would not class them as friends REAL friends accept you for who you are and yes support you when you ask them to but they do it constructively.

I go out or did all the time, i party, go to gigs, festivals, travel with friends do all those young people things etc. You talk about not having the will power to stop yourself eating a kitkat yet how can you do that when you don't have the will power to stand up to pressure and your friends?

I am not only over weight but i am still what people class as a goth :rotfl: I am short fat dressed in black with bright red hair, i have never smoked, rarely drink, never done drugs and have always been a bit alternative, i know how it feels to be different. All my friends are what i suppose you would call the norm, they don't dress like me, look like me or live like me yet we all respect each other and never try and change the other true friendship goes beyond the superfical outer appearences. I have encountered so many types of pressure from peers or strangers, as i am sure EVERYONE on here has.

Stop trying to be someone else and learn to be comfortable with who you are and soon you will find you will find that will power and inner strength and with that you will reach any goals you set yourself.

The way you talk is not healthy nor is what you are attempting to do. Have you seen a doctor? Or talked to someone other than those friends you talk about? I really think you need to stop what you are doing, take a good hard look at yourself and get some outside help from people who understand this area both professionally and from experience.

Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh but aside from my weight and debt my other big problem is my mouth and opinions :rotfl:

I don't see a lot of judging going on amos, just concern. And some things are harder to 'support' if, by support, you mean just agreeing with whatever people decide to do even if it seems wrong.

Anyway I'm saying no more on the matter....

Here's to getting the thread back on to free/cheap exercise and support for healthy weight/inch loss! I for one and fed up of my a*** following me around all day :rotfl:

Woo yay sounds like a plan :)
You know, you could always walk backwards and follow it around all day :D

I was just thinking, we should have like a list of who's involved, how much weight they lost and how much money they saved doing it - so we can come up with a grand total between us, I bet we could lose the weight of several whole people in just a few months if we all tried hard :D

I've tried to understand your perspective... I really have tried. I just don't understand how your goal weight is healthy and why you only eat one meal a day?

Check out these links with height & weight charts, both say you will be underweight when you reach your goal. http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/logout/news_features/idealweight.htm
    http://www.eatwell.gov.uk/healthydiet/healthyweight/heightweightchart/

Eating a kitkat doesn't make you a failure, it's your response to it that matters. Just please look after yourself and listen to what your body is saying to you.
