  • Hello! :hello:

    As promised...

I said earlier that most people lose 1lb (or more) during phase 1 of the book.

I have now completed phase 1 and weighed myself.

    Drumroll...........

    No change!

I have remained exactly the same weight for four weeks now.

I'm still hitting the gym and I think I've eaten less this week (because I've been "doing something different"). I can only assume that I am losing fat (:rotfl: ) but gaining muscle, which, as we all know, IS HEAVIER!

I spoke to my trainer about it last night and he told me a) not to worry, b) carry on as I'm doing because c) it will come off.

Follow up report this time next week.

Just waiting for my kit to dry, then I'm off to Muscle Beach for a bit.

    Hope you're all doing well!

Minnie, with all that exercise you must be gaining muscle... therefore surely losing fat :T :j

How do you feel though? I quite like the way that it makes me feel, even though I'm not follwing the actual program at the mo :o

  • Minnie, Kathsfich is right, I'm sure you are gaining muscle and losing fat, you will also be getting healthier, fitter and more toned, so stick with it!!
  • Back from Muscle Beach!

You're both absolutely right, of course! I do feel and look a lot more toned and I really love my weight-training sessions. I even managed to grimace attractively into the mirror today because I'd upped my weights! (I was shoulder pressing 12kg at the time - that's big news for me.)

Day One of Phase Two then.

Assertive/Non-assertive. Whichever you are, you have to be the other.

I'm sure you've all gathered that I'm not the shy, retiring type :rotfl: . So today I have to be unassertive.

I started at the gym where I bumped into my trainer who was, as usual, full of brilliant advice. Today he told me that I should make an effort to eat one "bad" meal a week. (Oh! The effort required in that one! ;) ). Why? Because after a week of eating well, your body will go into shock at having bad food and will up your metabolism to get rid of it. Don't you just :heartpuls the theory behind that? So, instead of getting on my high horse and disagreeing with him, I smiled sweetly and agreed with him (while planning the biggest blow out this side of Christmas).

After the gym, I popped into the supermarket to buy ingredients for my "bad" meal tonight. As the cashier put my roasties into the bag without scanning them first, I remembered the advice of the book and stayed schtum. I know this is very naughty, :naughty: but as I'm being unassertive today, I just couldn't bring myself to tell him what to do.

I'm LOVING this book so much!

  • Well done Minniepsender, I did the 26 mile walk yesterday (only they told us it was 27 1/2 miles when we got there! Did it in 8 hours and 48 minutes though which I was pleased with and ate a lot of cake!! :D
Only thing is... I got flashed by a speed camera on the way there so will be a nice little fine!
  • I've been doing stuff unofficially now for about the last 6months helping both pocket and !!!!!

I live approximately 20miles from work and have worked my fitness up for the last year so I try and bike in at least once, often up to three times a week. It takes about 1hr 30-2hrs (hill direction dependent) each way, but when it's winter and the schools are back it can take me an hour in the car. I've lost two stone (hope the last two follow shortly) and every time I bike I save £6 in fuel costs.

OH has also started a similar length bike ride, but trying to do every day (he's already fitter than me) - saving us £30 a week in train fairs.

I'm hoping that over the winter I up it permanently to 3 days a week minimum (I have a laptop to carry in/home so don't like to bike when I cant leave it as it's bloomin heavy), which between us will save us about £50 a week!

Sorry for the smugness - but as I said, I started last november roughly barely able to bike a mile, last week I did 3 75mile days on a charity ride - if it's possible for me, anyone can do it

There's hope for even a slob like me then! Although i have the perfect excuse for not cycling in to work....unfortunately.....I work from home:rotfl:

Now...a word with my lovely DFFFW buddies....which one of you pinched the No Diet Diet Book from under my nose on ebay the other day?? I got out-sniped!! I hope it was one of you......happy reading.

    Off to the book-shop now....
