Time for my first update and, crazy thouh it sounds, from last Friday (01/09) to yesterday morning (08/09) I've gone from 16st 0lb to 15st 4lb - I've lost 10lb somehow! Now, as pleased as I am, I think there has to be some other explanation, as I am aware it is not possible to lose that much fat in a week. I assume it has to do with the fact that I got back from America on holiday before I started and that my body was adjusting to 'normal' portions, less carbonated drinks, less snacks and so on. I haven't really done much exercise, it has all been down to eating healthier meals and not snacking between means (expect my treat of one whole bourbon biscuit at work yesterday).
My savings are going well too, thanks to matcheed betting I should have another £250 to add to my ISA before the end of the month. Along with pay day and having very quiet (and boring) weekends, my target should be well within reach.
I hope everyone else is doing well, if there is any comments/advice on my unrealistic weight loss, that'd be great. I should be pleased really, but I don't feel I've worked anywhere near hard enough, so there must be another force at work.Personal ISA Contributions Challenge - current £0 (as at 1 April 2014) / target £15,000 (deadline 31 Mar 2015)0 -
Wow PivotalGubbins well done! :T A lot of the weight you lost could be water, as when folks start a diet they quite often lose a lot of weight in the first week or two, then it tends to settle down to 1-2lbs per week. It's a fantastic boost!
I went to the gym today for the first time since feeling poorly and managed to do quite a lot, so quite pleased! Have been craving chocolate though... :rolleyes:0 -
Kath - thank you again for this fantastic book idea!
I'm coming to the end of day 3 phase 1. Day 1 - no telly. Easy. I just stayed in bed all day with the radio. Day 2 - write for 15 minutes. Erm... I do this anyway! Day 3 (today) - don't drink your favourite drink. Coffee in this case. What can I say, except GGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Very difficult! Tomorrow is "go for a walk for 15 minutes" - should be a doddle again.
The book says that most people lose 1lb (or more) during phase 1. I shall report back! If I do lose it, I'm hooked! I have reached a plateau with the scales refusing to budge for THREE weeks now! What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -

Yes, freebird, stop that now! It's a BAD HABIT.
