Hello everyone,I would like to join your club if I may?
Since giving up fags about 18 months ago I have gradually put on one and a half stone.May not sound a lot BUT it's all gone onto the wrong places-hips,thighs,bum (you get the picture) and the fact that it's all going South!:rotfl:
So my plan is NO slimming clubs (been there, done that) would rather save the money and do a bit more exercise and TRY to eat better,ie- not so much:rolleyes:
Have a Davina DVD from Christmas and the plan is to try and do the 30 minute workouts 3 times a week.
Motivation is the key,so I've found a photo of me in slimmer days (ooh-when was that?) stuck on fridge and going to weigh myself monthly in the hope that my chubby body will firm up and I may lose a few pound sometime in the not too distant future (by about Christmas anyway).
Would like to lose 7lb and go from there, sorry for going on it just seems the harder I try the more weight I put on.
I'm 36 does anyone think it's an age thing????

Try charity shops for exercise dvd/videos.. can be picked up for £2-£3 around here (must have lots of people who are now fit and don't use them, or New Year resolutions that fell by the wayside..)0

Welcome terriblesaver and irchy_mum! Well done for the recognition LA! Woo hoo!
Humph! Time for a moan. I've been to the gym six days out of seven. And I'm still feeling chubby! Weighed myself - no difference!!!
Someone please tell me that "muscle weighs more than fat" and that I am, in fact, getting thinner. What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
Bother! Went to dig out the bike and the tyres are flat! Could I find the pump? Of course not. So my goal of cycling round the lake is postponed till I can find the pump or replace it!
Instead the dog got an extra 45 minutes brisk walking - he couldn't believe his luck!

Minnie....muscle DOES weigh more than fat hon! More muscle means more calories burned per minute too!
Don't be a slave to the scales babe, who cares what they say...do you clothes feel looser? Does you butt or tummy feel taughter? Are your bingo wings not flapping? These are the things you need to focus on, not a dial or a set of LED digits that might need calibrating anyway.
Consider yourself told off a bit....Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Heh heh! Thanks for that LA!
Feeling better already.
I vow not to go near the scales for a month. What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
Hope you don't mind if I join in. Found the thread from Martin's newsletter and wieght is probably more of an issue for me than debt. i reckon if i can sort my obsession out with food I can probably clear my debt in no time. My main problem is I love food - good food. I always buy food out - sandwiches, take aways, meals out. it is the one thing i spend a fortune on.
So I have 2 stone to lose and £2k to pay off my credit cards it would be great if I could tackle those together. My first goal this week is to stick to my menu plan all week and not eat out or buy any take away food (including lunches) all week. The plan is to pay off what I save on my debt. This is my 4th day now and so far so good.
I have been reading through the masses of messages and tips on this thread and am off for my free walk now!!!
Thanks for all the inspiration both monetary and weight wise :j0 -
Hi misscal! Welcome! I hope you enjoyed your walk! Tomorrow...go just a little bit further...Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
