Why not just post the information here? Silly to direct people to another site for no reason.
For those that cannot be bothered to mess about with going to another site, here is the first instalment:
I'll copy the letters over if anybody needs them.
DMG who the hell are you to start copying my site?
I am currently writing it as a 'bigger picture' on the whole darn subject0 -

We regret to inform you that we are unable to accept your order for an Argonaut water butt.
This is due to a system error on our website which caused us to continue taking orders for the product after our stocks had been exhausted. This water butt has now been discontinued and consequently B&Q will not be stocking it in the future.
We apologise for any disappointment this may have caused and confirm that a full refund of monies paid by you for the Argonaut water butt has now taken place and has been credited back to you via the payment method that you used on our website.
If you ordered additional items from B&Q at the same time as placing the order for the Argonaut water butt, these items will be unaffected by this system error.
Should you require any further information regarding the above please do not hesitate to contact us by replying to this email.

Just wanting to share this great find with other MSEers! That is what MSE is about, isn't it? I assume consumer revenge is not selective?Gone ... or have I?0 -
I also ordered two tanks - in two transactions - one has been debited, not refunded as they have just stated in an email I have just got. The second transaction was cancelled by B&Q with no contact with me as they deemed it to have been made in error, which was not the case! We really wanted them, we had measured aetc to make sure we could fit the second on, that's why there were two orders.
I sent an email to them yesterday - am very disappointed with their level of service. Am waiting to see if they reply0 -
This is a very interesting line in the cancellation email/letter

It will allude to the fact a contract has been formed as they confirm exsiting order unaffected and nodby has received fresh new confirmation. EC Directive states that retailers are obliged to acknowledge orders.0 -
At the end of the last case I gave them the opportunity to make this private and I was told to "do what I like". So I am.0

We have three types of people (at least) on this forum.
Type 1 - those that try and help others
Type 2 - those that try and hinder others
and
Type 3 - those that aren't bothered.
Looks like we have at least two types on this thread.
Keep up the great work TBeckett, you didn't need to go that extra mile to help, you could have kept everything under wraps and dealt with this issue yourself in quiet, but you are trying to help others, as you did with the dishwasher thread - a great attribute. I think Martin will be proud of you.
