so it didnt arrive........hey ho thats life!
Inside me lives a skinny woman crying to get out - but I can usually shut her up with cake!
  • I don't have the original description from B&Q, just my order confirmation, will I need a description showing it comes with filter, pumps etc or will the order confirmation be enough?

    Any help much appreciated.

I knew this would come in handy:

    I've been Money Tipped!
Thanks Barabrian 1 for the link to the other thread, I will definately be taking B&Q on too.

I have found an alternative tank which is very similar for £850.21 plus delivery £45 plus VAT £1,029.49 total. I don't have the original description from B&Q, just my order confirmation, will I need a description showing it comes with filter, pumps etc or will the order confirmation be enough?

    Any help much appreciated.

Lots of info still out there, search Google for Argonaut 1100 litre water tank.

Just got my cancellation letter this afternoon.
Worth a try with LBA etc. if this is similar to the "dishwasher error".
As expected really to just send out a cancellation letter without any compensation, though a goodwill gesture wouldn't have gone wrong as in the "shed error"

Good luck on whatever you decide - keep us informed.

  • Thanks Barbarian1 Your a star
For the record we have genuinely ordered a tank for our garden after seeing it on Hot Deals, and it wasn't until I was checking this site today for freebies and competitions :rolleyes2 when I saw this thread that I realised there may be someting wrong, then when I rang B&Q to ask the second girl I got on the phone was so awful when there was really no need to be I only wanted to know why they had kept our money since Sunday morning and hadn't refunded it if there was a problem, and since they have only refunded late last night, I asked if there was some goodwill gesture as they have had our money for the best part of a week for nothing, I would have been happy with a £5 voucher or something but her attitude stank so now I will be sending in the letter to see what happens.

I ordered two for our garden too and am gutted they're not coming. I did think about the whole 'you knew it was a mis-price' so won't be upheld in court. But then they did slash the original price by £650, so another £800 off isn't beyond the realms of possibility. It does have a huge 'Sale' sign in the corner too.

    Edit:

Plus they should probably learn not to have the red saving box automatically calculated as it does say 'Save £1448' in a pretty obvious way.

My understanding is that this wasn't a misprice, they were trying to clear up stock held in branches. No more orders were to be placed for this item with the manufacturers.
  • I have found a similar one by Ecosure but not one by H20.

Heres the link, its the only one I could find with all the pump and bits with it, most others were just a tank.

The letter didn't make any mention of a misprice, just a lack of stock.
  • I think B&Q were the sole suppliers of the Argonaut 1100.
