Just to be sure, delete everything, don't leave not even 1?
Correct. Once you've deleted all of the partitions, it should look something like this. All you need to do then is hit [Enter] and follow the on-screen prompts.

All done! It seemed to go a lot quicker this time, probably because I knew what I was doing.

    Hiya,

Thought I'd wait until all the updates were installed before I said whether or not it's all ok.

Well yes, the wireless is back up.

The Video controller still has an exclamation mark in device manager.

I can't get the font to be be normal. When I reinstalled the 1st time and changed the language to British English the font was odd, the 2nd time I forgot and it was normal.

This last install (3rd time lucky I hope!), it is odd again, and my touchpad isn't scrolling so I can't ctrl scroll my way out.
It looks like I'm in safe mode. I tried changing the DPI, and the font size, but it hasn't worked.

As I'm typing the page is too big for the screen and I have to scroll across if I want to see the whole thing.

I realised the resolution needed changing. Once I done it the words looked tiny so I changed the dsi again and now they are all squished together.

I still can't scroll and when I use page up or down it takes 7 mini steps as opposed to 1 sharp movement.
    Please no more reinstalls.

That's because your graphics driver hasn't been installed yet. Depending on the configuration, it's either ATI or Intel.
