Start with the network card, then everything else will be easier.0

OK, it all went a bit wrong.
I put all the drivers on that I could, and when it restarted it just showed a black screen. I rebooted a couple of times and then decided to use the xp cd to repair it, and it's downloading now.
I'm going to only put the network drivers on and see if I can get online that way.
Any other suggestions?Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
For best results install the chipset drivers first, then immediately restart the machine. Graphics drivers are usually next, so you can actually see what's going on without having everything you see fill the entire screen. Restart again, then install the network drivers.
If Windows survives the process, you're all set to install the remainder - restarting each time when prompted - followed by the latest service pack.
Only then can you brave the horrors of the Internet, secure in the knowledge that you are reasonably... secure?
At which point it should be safe to 'activate' Windows.

Oooh, I'm getting a bit frustrated now.
I had downloaded all the drivers initally and something on there made the window go black, so I repaired it with the xp cd, and then deleted all the drivers from my usb, and then put back on all the drivers in the network section as well as the chipset one too.
I've downloaded those on to my laptop, restarted and there are still drivers missing.
I'm at a loss at what to do now, any suggestions?Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
Which drivers are missing?0

And what have you installed, and what isn't working?

This link should narrow things down a bit more.0 -
The missing drivers are: ethernet controller, Network controller, PCI device, Sigma Tel C Major and USB controller.
Daily when I click your link it takes me to my service tag, I had originally installed all the drivers for my service tag as explained above.
The last time, I installed everything in the Network section for an inspiron 6000.Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
If you have missing drivers, they aren't installed, or you've installed the wrong ones.
Install the broadcom integrated controller driver, then hook it upto your router, and install the rest. If it doesn't work, try the intel driver.
What is the instance id of the missing drivers?0
