Sounds like you've installed Windows in what was once the restore partition. I suggest you start over, with one modification: when you see this screen, delete every partition you can see. That way, you'll end up with a single large partition instead of several little ones.

Start again? Does that mean reinstalling the service packs too?

On the E disk: DELL, documents and settings, program files, and WINDOWS.

    From the command prompt, type

    set

if windir = c:\windows then the stuff on e is probably the restore partition, and the message is nothing to worry about, you can turn off low disk space notifications if you wish.

if windir = e:\windows then you've installed windows to the wrong place.

If you had a restore/recovery partition btw, this whole process could have been much easier.

Oh well, it's all a learning process eh? :)

Should I make one of these restore partions before starting the reinstall process?

Only the likes of Dell can do that and in my opinion it's a waste of space anyway.

Recovery partition is installed by Dell, to make restoring to factory settings easy. If that's what you have, then you could have done the whole install with drivers in 10 minutes.
