Morning ladies.
Sorry everyone is feeling rubbish today. First day of holiday today- we don't fly till tomorrow so just last minute bits and pieces today. plus OH is taking me for a Nandos for lunch. Before we jet off I must-
-Collect Euros
-Post four eBay parcels
-Print out flight, hotel and transfer confirmations
-Finish packing
-Tidy up bikini line, ahem!
But as I have the whole day I'm going to do everything at a leisurely pace! Back is still pretty sore this morning, which is a nuisance.
Hope everyone starts to feel soon.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Morning all.
Bath made the frequency of the pains drop, but they got much worse. So we went to the hospital, and just like last time the taxi driver attempted to rip us off by driving in the wrong direction. I'm sure it's because I was talking and he assumed we were tourists because my accent's so obviously foreign.
Monitoring for 30 minutes and although I was getting lots of small pains there was only one contraction (it went up to 60 on the pressure scale and it hurt like several very painful things). So they took various fluid samples, poked at my cervix and did an ultrasound.
All is well, cervix is closed, no explanation for the pains, so they gave me some tablets and sent me home.
Oh, and while in there my BP dropped to 90/60. Freaky.
Edit:
Glam, make a list! I made one and prioritised into Stuff That Needs To Be Done ASAP, Stuff That Needs To Be Done Before The EDD, Stuff That Needs To Be Done Sometime and Bonus Stuff To Be Done.
We're now into the EDD stuff with only six things left on it:
Piano (coming next Friday; make room for it to come in)
Clear out pinball machines
Clean pinball room
Paint if needed?
Move baby stuff in there
Set up flatpacked/disassembled furniture
The original list was three pages long.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
Three gifts left to buy0 -
sorry to hear everyone's feeling a bit rubbish. I'm ok but so blinkin' HOT! The only office on the corridor without air con and it's on the hot side of the buidling and I sit next to the window so am getting slowly cooked.
off to the hosp tomorrow for a lucozade test. am really hoping I pass as I can't bear the thought of a fasting test (I have a condition that means I need to eat regularly or I go downhill v quickly as my blood pressure drops... and I get v grouchy in the process)
28 wk appt and 2nd 4d scan as well coming up so a full-on baby week
Edit: have changed my due date on the siggy as I seem to have 2 different ones on various different forms - time to stick to one I thinkMFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

Aless - I agree, some people get good enough pay/benefits packages to be okay, but I think you have to be really high up the payscale to do that. From what I've seen, people seem to do much better job-wise in the move from the US to the UK, rather than the other way around. But you never know. Never hurts to check, don't have to take an offered job if it isn't a good enough offer.
DH is much happier in the UK, as am I.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -

elastigirl wrote: »Has any one tried bought an arms reach co sleeper? I borrowed a moses basket from a friend when i had ds and because i had a section i found it quite hard to get him out of it to feed in the night. Our bed is quite high, i am very small lol bad choice of bed there! So i had to jump out of bed and climb back in with ds in my arms. All very arkward and painful for me. So i thought they sounded good but they are american and hard to find over here. There is some on ebay but mostly are collection only and non have been near and they are going for quite a bit of money second hand. If i am going to spend that much i would rather it be new.
Are they worth the money or not?
I've got something similar and it works well, although DS likes to shuffle out of it and get closer to me! A bit expensive but it is nice and easy for access. We tried a moses basket next to the bed, but even though I didn't have a section it was still too much faffing around. It suits me well and I'd recommend it if the baby will be in with you.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
It seems HUGS all round are needed again!
Storm - welcome and congratulations - I can't help with the MS having no suffered it at the beginning but a lot of ladies swear by eating something first thing - even if its a biscuit before you get out of bed.
ML - I felt ridiculously hot this morning too ...it's a combination of hair dryer, hair straighteners, hot cup of tea (and even though I sit think why an I drinking this, I need the caffeine) and a hot train into the office. Luckily I have cooled down a bit now. I was feel yuck this morning, heat and tiredness I think - I feel better now after a banana and a couple of rich tea biscuits.
Sugar - your little likes to scare you. I'm glad you went and got checked out, and good news about your cervix being closed. Tell bubs to hand in there a bit longer!
Glam - You sound quite positive :T more positive vibes for your hubby. I agree with others that a list is needed.
MTW/ Harley- Feel free to rant away...
SM - any news on your pay? Do you still have the email address for you payrol dept?
MM - how have you had time to beat my bejeweled score :p
Gosh, that turned into a long reply. Sorry, If I missed anyone0 -
lou - sorry to hear about your nans, have some (((HUGS)))
STORM - congrats and welcome to the club .
I didn't have morning sickness as such, just nausea and no appetite until about 12 weeks, then I felt much better, with just the occasional odd day of feeling ill. But everyone is different and some people suffer until the end, but other lucky ones never get anything!Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set
