    Thanks Triggles (and Aless)

It's a long shot but if it came off it would be working for the NFL so I would expect OH to get an excellent package from them to make it worthwhile otherwise I ain't going!

Oh, really struggling to get going again today - I just feel wiped out and really uncomfortable. I have enjoyed being pregnant until now! I'm in work but just can't get motivated to do anything and I've got loads to do!

If it carries on then I most certainly will be taking my annual leave before ML so finish on 24th August :j

Glam - I'd think he'd get a good benefits package, too, but I would feel badly if I didn't mention some of those things. I've had so many people that have said to us "why would you like in the UK when you could live in the states?" and they just didn't know about some of those things.

I can relate to not feeling motivated today. I'm just exhausted - no decent sleeping position to be found so tossed and turned all night.

father's day bbq went pretty well in the end and everyone had gone by 5.30 leaving Dh and me some precious recovery time! my lovely dad has offered to get us the tripp trapp high chair we really want - they are not cheap.

MIL was fine though made a bit of a song and dance about this PINK (!) bouncy chair she bought at a boot sale. She didn't bring it because she didn't want to 'offend' or 'embarrass' as it was 2nd hand. Now I am not only anti-dresses, I (and my parents) am also a snob! This is so funny as I was brought up in a household with a v limited budget (hated non-uniform days as I never had anything I felt I could wear out), DH and I are v MSE and mum has been rooting around in charity shops like a good 'un. Think she confuses being educated (parents are academics) with being snobby, stuck up or pretentious, when actually we're the opposite - can't understand the gotta get everything new brigade... hey ho... just have to smile and nod...

I think the 3rd trimester has made DH realise we need to get a few things sorted and there isn't that much time yet! No NCT sales in our area til around the due date but we;ve found one about 30 mins away at the w/e so we're going to see if we can get some bargs, then on to the Ikea sale.

I don't want to whinge but I get this awful pain when I walk which is kind of in my right !!!!! cheek and makes me limp (doesn't look great with the waddle I already have!) so walking hurts. When I sit down I get a shorting pain right up my bum and into my back. If I sit for too long and then get up it's worse. The only position that seems to be comfy is lying in bed on my left side but then my left shoulder and hip get sore!

I'm counting down to 4.15pm now!

  • Triggles - you're right to mention those things as they do have an effect on quality of life - we looked at the US when DH got offered something through his US-owned company. TBH I don't think either of us could have done it. All the employment stuff you mention for definite, but also politically and socially, not a good match (the right to bear arms, death penalty and the hold of religion over public and private life are the main things for me - admittedly Bush was in power then but am not sure any of these will change dramatically under Obama) My Dad's american and I don't think he'd go back either...

I guess people go on hols to the US and think it's fab but visiting somewhere and living there are two very different things (as I have learned in the past with moves!)

Having said all that, with a good package it might be worth a go as presumably you wouldn't be commiting yourself to a permanent or even long-term move? You could see it as an international experience to add to life's rich tapestry... we are thinking of something similar in Canada...

    Morning all :D

MM - Glad to hear that Dylan is doing so well

Glam - Hopefully something will come up soon for your DH. I know what you mean about working late into pregnancy again, I must admit I finished Friday at 37 weeks and I could have done with finishing a week earlier.

Well as for me it's my first day of mat leave and this morning already I've managed to clean through, get 3 loads of washing done and dropped hubby to work all before 8.30am

Don't really mind though as I've been saving loads of jobs to do for once mat leave started so it feels good to be getting the basics out of the way before I start on the bigger stuff.

Hope everyone else is keeping well?

Thanks girls - you are right, the states always seems better than here but I guess we get it good!

He is hoping to speak with someone today about this other job he's trying to line up so fingers crossed!

Now he's off though he has promised to start sorting out some house stuff esp. as his bro is still there to help him lift the heavy stuff! I might need to do him a list though or he'll do pointless stuff - first thing though ring exterminator about that wasps nest!
