I feel sick! I just pigged a whole packet of Fig Rolls!!

Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Triggles - well put! One way to put it...my friend's husband back home gets FIVE (seriously) days holiday per year. I make her insanely jealous all the time with my 28. I know life's not all about holidays, but it's a huge difference in attitude and workplace.
HOWEVER, it all depends on the job, honestly. If you can get good relocation expenses, good insurance, good benefits package, then you won't be worse off than here. My ILs lived in the US for a while and had their house, car, everything paid for by the company...so all their salary was just money in the bank! Not that everyone's that lucky...
Anyway, no harm in applying and see what they offer! You can always say no, of course, so better to try and reject it later. Very cool that the job's with the NFL of course!!

Triggles - I need to print out that list and give it to DH! He's dying to move to American someday and doesn't quite understand why I don't really want to go back! I feel like I've missed loads since I last looked on Saturday afternoon, and too shattered to read back to find out the news. Any more births?
I've been out for the count since Saturday evening. Had a nasty tummy ache all day Saturday (like a burning pain all along the bottom of my bump), and on Saturday evening started to vomit violently. This went on for about 12 hours non-stop, and towards the end I started to leak alarmingly! Couldn't decide whether this was amniotic fluid or tmi whether my pelvic floor had just collapsed under the strain. We ended up phoning the hospital on Sunday morning, who said it sounded like a virus, and to try to rehydrate myself and keep an eye on things and come in if I felt I needed to. OH was, I have to say, completely rubbish. He decided that he had brought work home to do, so set himself up at the kitchen table, which is 2 floors below our bedroom and spent the whole day down there working, leaving the kids to their own devices. This inevitably meant that DD who has special needs and likes a lot of attention spent a good part of the day up in the bedroom with me, as I drifted in and out of a feverish sleep, and as for keeping rehydrated, he managed to bring me 2 glasses of water and 1 cup of tea over a 24 hour period! I was so weak that I could barely reach the ensuite loo never mind manage the stairs to get stuff for myself. But on the rare occasions that he did make it up to bring me a drink, he did make sure to put a hand on my tummy to make sure the baby was still moving
As he's off to work today, I have managed to make it downstairs to discover that the house looks like a bomb has hit it, and he hasn't done any of the heavier bits of housework that he said he would do for me this weekend before I got ill, like carrying the ironing up to the kids bedrooms which are 3 flights above the kitchen, or vaccuuming the stairs which haven't now been done for 3 weeks because the hoover is now too heavy for me :mad:0 -
Has any one tried bought an arms reach co sleeper? I borrowed a moses basket from a friend when i had ds and because i had a section i found it quite hard to get him out of it to feed in the night. Our bed is quite high, i am very small lol bad choice of bed there! So i had to jump out of bed and climb back in with ds in my arms. All very arkward and painful for me. So i thought they sounded good but they are american and hard to find over here. There is some on ebay but mostly are collection only and non have been near and they are going for quite a bit of money second hand. If i am going to spend that much i would rather it be new.
Are they worth the money or not? This is my signature!0 -
Hi ladies,
SM - I can't believe that you still haven't been paid,. can they offer you some kind of "emergency" fund/loan until they pay you properly?
mooki - good to "see" you here last night and glad you are enjoying mummyhood!
Another rant about my boiler, feel free to skip:
Boiler repair man was supposed to be coming to fix the hot water today (After cancelling last friday because required part had gone AWOL ).
I have just had a phone call to say they part is still not there, and they have no idea how long I will have to wait.
Someone else is supposed to be ringing me later to update me, but I won't hold my breath. The thing is, the valve they need is apparently a "common problem" and they fix it all the time - so why does it take so long to find one? anyone would think they need to track down the holy bloomin' grail!!
I explained that I am pregnant and due in a week, so will need hot water pretty urgently, but it didn't make any difference.
Rant over

Elastigirl - no idea sorry!
Nicki - men hey?! Mine has promised he'll do more whilst he's looking for a new job as 'I can't be expected to do it and work full time whilst pregnant' but my idea of housework and his are very different.
Today's priority is to bring the weights bench in from the garage so he can work out in the conservatory. My priorities - Empty dishwasher, put towels to wash, clear under our bed, dismantle single bed and put mattress under our bed and frame in garage, put his junk on eBay, hoover the stairs (mine too is awful!).
I think I'll do a list tonight and ask him to make his way through it as and when - that way I'm not nagging and he should get it done!
BTW - not much to catch up on since Saturday!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Sounds like everyone is having a pants day again.
I'm stuck in for the morning waiting for the new fridge freezer. Been up trying to clean the skirting boards in the nursery but I am getting too big to get on the floor comfortably now. God knows what I'll be like in Aug/Sept.
I checked the furniture replacements from mothercare yesterday when I got to mums and this lot is even worse than what it is supposed to be replacing.
They sent a wardrobe door instead of a dresser door, which is scratched anyway, a whole new undercot drawer which has a couple of small dents in the front - didn't even bother to check the rest, and the dresser side has the hugest split up through the front of it. For a £600 nursery set I am appalled.
If I wanted crap I would have just spent half as much and gone to Argos, at least then I would have known it would turn up damaged. And I can't even ring them to sort it out until the fridge has been otherwise you can guarantee that they will arrive whilst I am mid rant.
And I need to be nice, as I need the men to hang on whilst I put the fridge retaining brackets on (it's integrated) so that it doesn't fall on me when I open the doors.
God, sometimes it would be really handy to have a man around!!!
Sorry for the whinge, I'll shut up now:o

Felt horrible on Friday, as I told you all - and now it's Monday morning and I'm starting to feel all nauseous and sicky again!!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
