Well, I am gobsmacked that there haven't been any posts in a whole hour!!!
So much for my early night - watching BB and writing OH's CV!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
I went for a nice long bath, only problem is that newly lowered BP and a nice long bath = having to drop to my knees after I got out before I passed out. Now I've just got the shakes. Never happy me! :rotfl:
But on MSE pregnancy, we have £30 argos vouchers from surveys and the car seat I wanted won't be delivered till 15th August (and I'm not running the risk of ordering it for me to have to be induced early) so, Mamas and papas car seat or graco car seat?0 -
well, I have the M&P one so bit biased
(not that I've used it yet - obviously!)
I hate being light-headed!
Well, OH's CV is written and have done him 2 covering letters to send off. He just need to add some dates in and probably change some words around!
I know I'll be tired in the morning but cos I slept at lunchtime I'm not that tired!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

That same one Glam? Does it have the little head hugger thingy? I can't see in that pic (and then it's less than £20)
Hope he's going to thank you in a nice way for doing his CV!0 -

Um, it's the conservatory so I'll have a look before I go to bed and post in the morning. Don't think got's got the hood but am sure it has the head huggy thing?
I don't think that Argos pic is the best really
I think someone posted on another thread that Argos would be having a sale near the end of July. Guess it depends if you wana leave it that long!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Figure the earlier i get in the earlier I can leave!
Feel tired but also think I'm a bit too wired for sleep and bubs just woke up so might not get off straightaway!
Just reaslied my last post makes no sense as half the words are wrong or missing! Can't be bothered to edit but hope you can get the gist of it!

Just having a quick scan back to see how you all are. Glad to hear that both Dylan and Rhys and making big improvements.
Well, its day 6 of mummydom and I cant believe that this time last week I was having my 12 hour check in hospital following my induction.
I havent had much time to get on the internet, mainly because I have been so mesmorised by my little girl. She amazes me every day and I cannot imagine life without her. My hubby and I have been brought closer than ever and we are really enjoying having this special time together just the three of us.
I hope to write up my birth story in the next day or so. Will let you know when i've posted it on the thread.
Right, Leila's little mouth is opening and closing expectantly, so better go xxxxxxxxxProud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0 -

Glam - best of luck on the job front for your DH, of course. Please keep in mind that while the US is great to visit, from a working/living there standpoint it is much less family friendly than the UK.
- no child tax credits
- many states are "right to work" states, which means if they want to let someone go, it's quite easy to do so with little to no warning and little to no severance pay
- medical care is expensive, so you will need insurance, and your insurance will generally be tied to your job as a benefit of your job - which limits you greatly as not only do you still have to pay for it (higher rate for families obviously than a single person) but there's often a waiting period before it kicks in and if you decide to change jobs, your insurance would change as well, often requiring you to change doctors/hospital as well.
- workplaces are NOT required to consider family friendly policies at all, and many simply don't.
- holiday pay/sick pay are strictly limited in many positions, and in some jobs you are penalised by how much sick pay you use, even though it's there for you to use
- no SMP - and no national maternity leave policies - if you can sort out FMLA (family medical leave act), then IIRC it's 3 months leave, but I don't believe it's paid, unless you use your existing accrued sick/holiday leave from your job to cover it. But many jobs feel that 3 months is more than sufficient time for you to take off for a baby (and that's either unpaid leave or you using your accrued holiday/sick leave) and are not supportive of any longer leave.
Sorry to post a lot of negatives about it - but these are points that a lot of people who haven't lived for some time in the states (as I have) are not aware of, and for us, that was part of the reason DH & I live here in the UK (he's British, I'm American) and not in the states.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0
