Has anyone ever made a cot blanket? Just wondering if they are easy to make for beginners as it would be so lovely to have one. My sister is going to attempt making her own sling and she says if it works she will make me one :D

Hi, hope you don't mind me moving here from the TTC 12months+ thread, we found out on Thursday that after 6 years we are finally expecting our first child. Its early but we are both so happy and excited. No doubt I will have many questions over the next few months that I hope you can help with, but really just want to be able to chat amongst fellow mums to be :D

Hi Skintchick, my teacher is trying - she hasn't taught a pregnant lady before although she has had some training but I seem to spent a lot of time just sitting or doing cat and cow when the others are on their tummies or backs or upside down. So I really need to go to a pregnancy class - the only reason I haven't so far is my teacher is part funded by work so I only pay £3 for an hour and a half class - bargain!

That's not good. I do pretty much everything except big inversions like headstands, and I don;t do plank or locust or stuff like that.

I do downdog though, and trichonasana (sp?) and all the forward bends, and child's pose with a bolster, and lunges using blocks under my hands, and twists but I do them open so go the opposite way to everyone else and lead with my shoulders not my tummy, and I'm sure there are more! I do balances as well, just make sure I am next tot eh wall in case I wobble.

I pretty much do everything the same just being careful of my tummy and not squashing the baby.

I think your teahcer is inexperienced and therefore frightened of what you can do, but if I were you I'd have a word and ask her to get advice as you are finding it boring and know there is more you can do.

My class is not a PG class but my teacher is very experienced and has also taught Pg ladies before.

I think your teacher should take responsibility for finding out more, and not leave you doing cat, which while beneficial for positioning baby is not exactly interesting or taxing for you.

She should also do hip openers for you - we do those quite a lot and they are great for me especially. Not sure of the names of them but one is where you stand on your knees, put one leg out in front of you, then move your body over. I'm not explaining it very well!

Anyway, speak to your teacher because this is a chacne for her to learn and progress, and there must be someone more experienced she can ask for advice, even if she just looks it up in her books.

Today OH has been painting the kitchen which is almost all the big jobs done now - just painting the garage and front doors to go really. He hasn;t stopped since midday but we're running out of paint so will have to finish tomorrow.

hugs to everyone who needs them especially Gemma and Beenie and Sugar.

    Congratulations Somnium!! :)

Well aside from sitting playing on Bewjeled and here all afternoon, me and DH have just finally cleared the rest of the junk into the loft from our nursery room. So we now have an almost empty nursery ready to paint. Just gotta decide a colour now!! Only things left in there are the moses basket, stand and baby bath that we got recently off ebay. :)

Just gonna have some beans on toast for tea now, mmm...

    xx

and blah blah (insert whatever response you need for your post) to everyone else that I have forgot :D:D:D

I am going to have my baby home before Wednesday :j:j:j:j:j:j
Nurse told us today as he is on 90ml every 4 hours and is doing well that he should be fine to come home at the start of the week. His consultant will be round to see him on Monday morning and could send him home that day, but she thinks Tuesday or Wednesday is more realistic :T:T:T:T:T:T:T

I am the happiest mummy around today :D:D:D:D:D

Oh and I told the nurses that I wasnt going to express any more and he was going onto formula, I was expecting ' do you not think you could try a bit longer?' or something along those lines and what I got instead was 'you give him a really good start, dont beat yourself up about it' How nice was that ??
