I was going to do the dishes, but instead I think I am going to sit still and do them tomorrow.

    Sounds like a good idea!

Rhys coming home depends on him mastering either breast or bottle feeding sometime soon. They can send him home with a tube but it's rare and certainly not ideal. Will still be on a lot of medications so we'll have to learn how to draw them up and administer them (please God don't tell me it'll involve needles!) and he'll have to go to the hospital for twice weekly blood tests.

I was just talking to one of the nurses earlier and she said the above and that things weren't going to change much anytime soon, in terms of the medications and frequency of all the tests (ie they won't go down to weekly or less often for quite a while) so she thought we could actually take him home as long as we kept bringing him back! I've got to speak to a specific consultant on Monday if she's around to see what she thinks..

I was thinking 3-5 weeks but it could be more like 2.. Don't want to get too excited yet. Need to master the feeding first so I might be going back into hospital for a few days so I'm always there when he's awake and looking slightly interested in breastfeeding, or I'm going to ask them to start trying him with a bottle to see if he'll take EBM that way.

Oooh, just realised that Tara hasn't been on for a few hours - I wonder if yesterday's half-hearted sweep worked!!

Nope, just came on and was catching up. Wanted to spend the day doing stuff with Erin and Ben, even if it was just playing games and stuff. OH put up their bargain trampoline from Littlewoods and we waited and had a sort of sports day in the garden. I had to time all the races but nearly wet myself laughing when Ben said that he would take a turn to count while I ran 4 times round the washing line. Soo tired, was up at 4am, but sat in the garden and had breakfast which was lovely.

Fantastic news about Dylan MM. XXX :T

    Welcome newbies. X :D

Am sure she'll be along soon enough, but I think it's safe to say the thread won't be too quiet even with you with your hands full with Dylan! ;)
