I was thinking to myself that it would be easier to do it that way in my mums shop, which it would. But, i would be underselling myself. Perhaps i need to look at making a few more items before i attempt to sell in another market, undecided yet. I'll spend a bit of time researching before i do.
I am talking myself out of doing it properly as i know i do not really have a lot of time to dedicate to it, but then again i would be better off spending some of the survey/dooyoo time on it as i would make more money, and if it took off, DS2 starts nursery next September and DS1 proper school and suddenly my time would be there.
You've all got me inspired and thinking this morning. Thanks for some good advice, and Lilac - i really appreciate your PM.
Hope I wasn't being a bossy moo? Doing the research sounds a good idea then you know what is realistic. You sound quite fired up about this - definitely worth a go as long as it doesn't put more pressure on you but then as you say, you'll have more time next year and that gives you plenty time before then to see what sells and to make some plans0 -
Maybe once you've made a few things you could use an online shop and set a link from here.

Cha, there are loads of WAHM sites on my FB. Have a look at their pages, some of them make a full time living out of selling their crafty bits. Did I tell you I have started going to knitting lessons? It's only 5 lessons, but by the end of them I 'should' be able to make something fairly easy...
BTW I would say the blanket is worth more around £15 - £20. It's lovely!Mummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0 -
One thing I thought of that may be a minor concern. some patterns say you cannot reproduce for resale unless you buy a specific licence. You could just amend some but you may have to consider formulating your own so maybe a book on designing/making patterns. you might need a business bank account, Abbey is/was totally free if turnover less than something like 50k.
FB business page, quite happy to link you from mine and my site once back up again. I have lots of crafty type friends too so you could network. Most areas have women in business events, alot of the time with a creche facility up here so possible way to meet people, let kids play, network. Real nappy events, see if you could get a table and sell stuff.
Get going soon, I want a nice one in cream or mint green as baby in the belly wouldn't show the goods at 20 week scan and my bugaboo is emerald greenMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
If/when you need website help let me know.
Simple things are easier to do than you think, and some of the "site in a box" packages are too restrictive.
I can help with simple stuff(with DH's help).

Hi Michelle,
You can generally get a small website hosted by your ISP. It is best to get a website address too so that if you change your host then your website address stays the same.
You can learn basic HTML from webmonkey - I had a quick search on their site and found this http://www.webmonkey.com/2010/02/make_an_html_document/ That enables you to design a site your way.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
