Michelle - I love the blanket too. I have a formula for pricing jewellery to sell that I could PM you as a starting point. You might find selling online more profitable something like WAHM.co.uk

We also had a lazy sausage day :)

Thats a great result on the freezer - you must be well chuffed :j. Now re the blankie - no offence to your mum but I think its worth a lot more. Its handmade and lovely with those patterns and lots of work so don't let it go for too little - its not a survey or a review its a thing of beauty! Are there any independent shops in your area that sell designer kids clothes or stuff for new borns that you could maybe sell a couple to?

How about asking for ideas on MG's thread - it seems to be bursting with entrepenurial ideas so maybe someone can suggest where else would be good to try? Can't hurt to ask ;).

Hope you manage to have that dry and calm week

I agree with teapot, it is worth double that I would have thought, you are very clever :T.

Great result on your ebay as well. I know what you mean about what people will pay for stuff. I've just sold a jacket for £17, after 9 bids, and previously I couldn't sell it for 99p on 2 different occasions. There's nowt as queer as folks ;)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

Michelle - I think your mum underpricing you easily. http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/motherofpearlatelier/product/hand_knitted_pram_blanket_cosy_girl look at that one. TBH yours looks more intricate but I know nothing about knitting so pass.

What a great site ..thanks for the link..there's some beautiful stuff for my grandchildren on there.

Your blanket is definitely worth more than your mum will sell it for...I'd buy it for more than that.

'chelle i'm just a bossy accountant who is being slowly driven mad by being off work :)

Remember if you are self employed and make a 'loss' oncedeductions made you can deduct that loss from your OH's income for tax credit purposes. Depending on his income you may actually find you are 'better' off.

I think this is exciting. Positive points are you can devote as much or as little time as you want to it, DS1 at nursery and DS2 amusing himself you could do a quick bit of promotion or a few inches.

You could either sell blankets from stock or get some ideas photographed and make to order with a 14/28 day delivery. I have saw a few places selling hat boxes with a blanket/shawl, booties, mittens hat and cardi in lambswool or organic wool for £150+.

Blanket is on p53 for those who forgot (I had to go on a hunt :o).

Michelle, if you can find a way to make things and not get stressed about the pressure of deadlines to get them finished for customers, then it sounds a great idea.
