thanks, got it booked into the garage for thursday. Local garage and it looks like the dealers were really trying to rip me off. (No surprise there then). Just have to hope the car doesn't get killed, but it was a dealer who did it last time, so i don't think i'd trust anybody really.
  • Good luck both of you with your poorly cars. Mine is going in the garage at the end of the week for MOT and service, so hope its ok.
What I would really like is for them to replace the lightbulbs in the dashboard that mean you can see what the heating/cooling is doing and blow it at the right bit. OH tried to take dashboard to pieces but couldn't manage to get it all sussed. He says though if we ask the garage to do it it will cost £100 because of the time needed, its fiddly.

It is a real pain as I have to pull over if I need to increase/decrease/ redirect the air (if the car gets fogged up) if I'm travelling at night.

Sorry to grumble on your thread....

that would drive me nuts as well, it's not something as simple as a fuse is it? OH often go for the technical answer when it's something really silly. Well mine does. good luck with the service and MOT hope your car behaves.

ooo, that would definately annoy me. Just remember to talk nicely to your car ( and then walk away with all your finegrs crossed;))
My car was fine, she doesn't like the rain. I took the starting motor off and put it on the radiator lol, and she works just fine now.
Blokes always seem to go for the most complicated answer...bet lemontree is right and it's something simple like a fuse.

£50!!!!!! per day or is that 50 miles.

    Ok, spending today shopping wise
    £31.64

Now this included catfood which should last for another week, olive oil ( should last prob 2 months) and washing power ( should last till end of month but at 1.74 am not too worried if it only lasts 2 weeks).
And I bought a few extra things (packet of biscuits, 4 packs asda noodles and 15 eggs as I couldn't remeber if I had any!!!)

My aim for next week it to reduce this to £25 for a week.

thankfully 50 miles a day. But mine's also a 1.2 and does really good mileage, i just do too many miles.

i've started crossing my fingers ready for the car's visit to the garage tomorrow. It best behave!
  • Just picked up the car, passed mot second time after they unstuck the fog light switch. Had a service. They have fixed the bulbs on the dashboard, which apparantly was a 'horrible job'. It cost about what we budgeted £230ish, so its very cost-effective getting the service and the MOT aligned!
Hope you're well catspaw, and the car isn't playing up too much in this autumn damp. I wonder how Lemon Tree got on with her car.

    Cheers

Hi CBM, nice on on the car,MOT and servce for that price is pretty good ( my little sister was quoted £400 and half of that work wasn't actually needed for the MOT) mmm hope lemontree's car was ok.

Well yesterady was a NSD:j am getting good at this, I might even hit my target of 10 this month.
But am off to put more petrol in as I am meeting a group for a hastily arranged run this morning,we picked somewhere halfway for all of us ( about 10 miles down the road) but I haven't seen most of them for about 6 months so it's worth it. And we'll be off for a coffee later....call covered in mud and leaves.
    I'll call it my treat!
