DD 1 ( she's 12) has decided she's off to eitherNew zealand or US to study marine biology for her degree - she did try and persuade me she could leave at 16 but I'm not as greeen as I;m cabbage looking.
What's your youngest studying?

Guess she's starting to save now for the tuition fees is she? lol0 -

Looks like I need to do some sharp saving once the debts are cleared

pretty much, though just read on here that i may have been conned by cdwow who i'm waiting on for the last chrissy pressy, so i'll have to start hassling them for my money back and go and buy the cd again to finish off the last chrissy pressy. grrrrrr
tree was put up last night and looks nice. we don't have to buy extra food as we go to my parents for lunch, but we do have friends coming round on sunday for dinner.
are you sorted?0 -
All sorted by the looks of things...might get a small bag of choc coins for the DD's stockings....b****r need a small cat toy, but all done.
All I really need to do is remember to take duck/pheasent out of the freezer.
Have managed another NSD as well!! and to make a few PAD's.
On the down side, mmm not sure if it is...I have spoken to all the bill people to arrange for arrears and everything to come out of my account, so at least I know it will be all paid and on time.
Might take a while but it will be done.
Have spent last few days reading the diary the Revenge of the stripey socks:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: what a read!Proud to be dealing with my debt:eek:

Hi Catspaw,
DS2 is doing computers at uni, I guess he was always going to head down the computers route but I was surprised when he wanted to go to uni - he got very fed up at school and academia did not seem to be his thing at all.
I hope that the fees will have settled down by the time your DD starts. The pressure on the kids from loans (that barely cover the costs of the accommodation), knowing they are going to end up with an enormous debt, and trying to make ends meet while living away from home and organising their lives is really tough. It doesn't help that the structure keeps changing.
So are you now taking responsibility for the whole of the running costs? That doesn't seem fair....
Cheers

I'd rather take it now and know when I move that once it's paid it's only my bills. Ok so it puts my bills up by nearly and extra £100 but that will change soon.
Have started to look for somewhere else.
mmmm got to admit am not looking forward to either going to uni as will want to help them as much as possible. I don''t want either of them to start their adult lives with £20K worth of debt:mad:Proud to be dealing with my debt:eek:

i guess i was lucky when i went to uni as i did get a grant (in the good old days
)
just spotted a house near me, which at a push and if we could sell would be in our price range, and it's 3 bed. needs modernisation which we'd be ok with, but bet it's a non starter. I've asked for the details but i've asked for details before and they never bothered to send them.0 -
Yes Catspaw, at least you know what is coming that way. Is your housemate likely to reimburse you, or is that a silly question?
Good luck with the househunting Lemon Tree - exciting times!
