hate to say it but if you have a joint tenancy, then if he doesn't pay you have to pay his share as well as your own.

give him a kick up the derrier???
I'm sure about the joint tenancy thing as a friend of mine had one with a houseshare person and they were made unemployed, and she thought it was extremely unreasonable and couldn't accept that it's life and the landlord had to protect themself (not that i'm infering that that's your opinion as well, she was just a bit stupid/annoying about the whole debt responsibility thing)

Right, as long as I know that I can be made liable I think I need to get up off my **** and go to the agnets to see what can be done, and to start looking for somewhere else.

Today I will be heading ou the door for a long ish run with a friend ( about 13 miles but haven't told him how far yet hehehe)
Then need to ring all the bill companies and see what I can do about it, as I don't want to get nobbled having come this far. I have managed to find all the paperwork so now must ring them.

Apart from the 2 portable dvd players for the DD's I am sorted for christmas and will get the bulk of the wrapping done tonight.

And am doing well on the NSD's so far: have managed from Sat to today with not spedning anything thanks to my mother's hamper/food shop:j
Although the jammy dodgers/pringles didn't last more than 3 hours with the kids!

jammy dodgers/pringles will last even less than 3 hours with just me let alone anyone else.
good luck with sorting stuff out, sorry to have been the bearer of bad news.

It's not bad news lemon tree it's a case of being forwarned is forarmed! and I would rather that than anything else. If I know what the problem is I can try and get it sorted.

Am just sitting down to lunch as the run was a very cold 13 miler......

i'm similar, i'd much rather know such things because as you say you can try and do something about them.
  • Hi Catspaw
Well done on the NSDs - sounds like a lovely hamper to have received. Good luck with housemate or earlier move, whichever way you decide to go. Are your DDs of an age to be mega-excited about christmas?

    Cheers

not sure who's more excited, my DD's or my little sis (she's 22).
The eldest doesn't believe but still gets excited and the youngest....think this will be the last year she believes...but my sister...,she's buying seigh bells to wind the kids up when they are in bed and big stockings and making snow men , she's wound right up!

And my new man ( well he's not sooo new but it's a long story) has given me an early christmas pressent.....24 roses ( 12 red and 12 white)...it's the first time in 15 years I have had a pressent from any bloke I have been seeing ( oo hang on, I tell a lie, last year I got a mobile phone battery...think that counts:rolleyes:)

You both sorted for Christmas now? All excited?

  • Roses - how fantastic. And well done you for finding a man that can do presents. Bodes well for future!

Over the years I have had from OH a kitchen bin, (I don't think he'd dare to do that now lol), a waterproof coat, a couple of years later thermal gloves, scarf and hat (which clashed with my coat and I had to buy a new one) and other practical things. I have even had 'flours' - bag with SR, plain and wholemeal in  That sounds really ungrateful, he makes up for romantic present ineptitude in other ways and I do love him to bits.

We're not especially excited, youngest child is 18 and just back from first term at uni - tired out and skint! It will be nice to be together, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone.

    Cheers
