  • :rotfl:@ your conversation with WF. Hope they come back offering something more constructive.
Good news on the new man and :T at you being finished shopping. We're nearly there - quite a bit to order online and thought I might do that this evening when its quiet.

Have fun on your day off Lemon Tree :D . The target completion date for a major project I'm working on has been shifted from mid Jan to 17th December  so looks like I'll be working extra days between now and then. I have promised to go back to job #2 to deliver some training on 16th and need to prepare, so all in all I'm feeling a bit overloaded. Stress levels are rising also. Meeting with manager tomorrow to agree how much of analysis and report needs to be completed for December version - wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't delivering to chief exec on 17th....

    Cheers

Lemontree: did you enjoy your day off? When is your baking day?
CBM: good luck from the presentation, lte us know how it goes.

WF are being a pain, they are refusing t6o freeze the interest whatever I say, seems if I pay off £100 a month I still owe £187 interest!!!!! !!!!!!.

I must somehow pay the full amount of £200...... now all I get are tax credits which will leave me with £10 a week for food for the 3 of us and the cat after all the bills have gone out.....but I need to find it as don't want to damage my credit report...it's at an ok status, not good, but ok.

:mad::mad: You know that feeling of just when you think you are gettin somewhere????????

I am fuming absolutely steaming mad (and not just at WF either). This time at Barclays.

Now I have a lon with them, only a small one and things were ticking along nicely, paying the full amount on time every time......then I dovirced and moved....paid the ifrst month....and as previous posts showed I can't claim on the insurance.....so the bank rin me to make an interim arrangement....ok, all well and good, 2 payments go out for reduced amount and on time.......then they ring and ask to go through am SOA.....all well and good as being a good MSe like I am I have it worked out to the penny:D

    Or do I???????????

Now their system works on a average income.....as in not all months have 4 weeks some have 5 and so they do an average over the year

Their system says I have an extra £85 a month spare.....I bloody wish:rotfl:not a hope in hell.
So I went through my SOA worked by the WEEK and they won't accept it.

I know I have £35 left at the end of the month.....so where they get the extra £50 i have no idea.

They then offered to cut my loan paayments reconsolidate it or something.....only flaw in this plan is that I wouldn't be allowed any form of cash point card, I would have to go into the bank and withdraw money:eek:

So if I neede petrol at 3a.m and had 2 kids in the car where was I going to get the money from?
so I very kindly told them where to shove their suggestion- sideways
(oh and would add an extra 5 years onto my loan and an extra £3500 in interest)
Then it was 'oh you have £500 in your account'
'yes, that's my rent money just paid in today by the council and due out on standing order today'
'oh we shall take it to pay off your debt, you can borrow money to pay your rent'

At which point, I have to admit that I lost the plot ( they did put the money back though)

Their next suggestion was to cut down on food: I spend £90 a month for myself the 2 DD's and the cat, to cut down on petrol ....ummmm at £40 a month I don't think so, but I have to find the money.

How the hell can they justify this type of program....yes some months I might have the money but never £85 extra

Maybe I can cut down more......ok off to the Old style board.....Barclays can shove their loan sharply and painfully somewhere, I want it and the CC ( though they are being paid slowly but surely off) off my back.

Is it possible to clear all my debts by the end of next year?

  • For goodness sake Barclays get a grip! Catspaw have a dodgy hug :grouphug:

I am not an expert but the whole 'reconsolidate loans' business makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up - I think there are problems with that?? Maybe it would be beneficial to get some advice on this, Martin's article could maybe point you in the right direction. I think somewhere on this site is a board where lots of people discuss this kind of thing with a lot of knowledge - might be worth posting something there to signpost you to something reliable and free?

Really sorry to hear of your troubles, and angry - you've been doing all that you can and it just seems the banks are really not respecting that.

sorry to hear that they have been total.... nope can't think of a word that they system won't turn into !!!!'s . sending you hugs. Are you able to start a basic account with another unrelated bank and get the rent money put into it so they can't decide to appropriate it again? It may be a good starting point.

Am thinking about it...might just keep a daily eye as opposed to 3 daily eye and quickly remove the money as soon as it hits the account.

It as made me so determined to clear everything, come hell or high water by the end of next year........not sure how to do it but I xXXXXXXXXXX will.

I have never been soooooooo:mad: at anyone ( mmmm well maybe my ex)

Have decided not to pay little of both CC's: will pay a little each week of Cap1 and hammer the Vanquis with an eye to clearing that one in Jan and the Cap1 by end of feb.
Then use that money towards the WF loan as that is the highest and clear that asap and then tthrow the lot at Barclays.
