Have you seen the 'seller pulled out after exchange' thread? A lot of people think if they just say 'no, not taking responsibility thanks' they can do what they like. Unfortunately for them this isn't the playground and the law has a habit of making them take responsbility and it costs them dearly.

Maybe its a good thing you went anyway then, as the extra pressure being even overweight by even a stone can put on your heart can have pretty scary consequences. Doctors often won't see their patients for 2 or 3 years, so they need to raise any warning signs when they get the chance. Plus, just because you are overweight does not nessisarily mean you are unhealthy. My dad is classified as obese, he plays football for 2 hours once a week, and does 60-120 miles on his bike on a Sunday, which is more than most people. Now he still needs to loose weight because of the pressure this puts on the internal organs, but the fact that he does sport too makes it a little less scary.

Don't be scared of what the doctor told you, but maybe consider looking at what you eat, or what you don't eat, and just try smaller portions for a while if it concerns you?

Maybe just stay away from the Nacho combos at the cinema?!

Like Dinah says, the doctors have to warn you on the rare occasion that they actually get to see you so maybe emphasise things like a weight worry a little too much, I think the idea is to scare you now so you don't go back 2st heavier in 2 years time and act surprised that you're obese! The last time I went I got a frown and a little lecture about having to eat more fruit and veg and doing more exercise!

You should join your lady on a bike ride to help shift some lbs!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

  • When i can get across i might do =)

As for the nacho combo's, i dont like them that much... I just like singing a song i made up for em cos it embaras's kate. I like to sing along to the comercials before the movies e.t.c. It's all good.

I signed up to something called food focus. Kate said that a couple of you use it, so i thought id give it a try. Doesnt seem too bad. I was under yesterday by 200 cals, which i guess is good seeing as how it was green. I do try and eat a lot of fruit and veg though, if mum makes a dinner i always eat my greens, i have apples as snacks, i even buy the morrisons salad bars the odd time im at work and have a car to be able to get there =P I think it could just be portion size. My mother tends to over fill the plate a lot of the time, and i guess ive just got accustomed to it.

Aye portion size is a hidden evil. If you actually weigh how much you get given and add this into FF, it can get scary. I'm a FF devotee (381 cals left out of my 981 allowed today, better hope its a veggies based dinner!) and it really does help work out where you fall down (like butter/margerine, its terrifying! I saved over 150 cals having my bread with my soup unbuttered!). Is your target to loose weight on there or just not to gain any?

Lol do other people in the cinema like you singing along to the movies too?!

Where is your missus hiding out anyway *yells* Cinny, where are you! You better not have challenged her to stay off here again Mr!

Yeah and you have to remember to put everything in - salad dressing, milk and sugar in your tea, those three almonds you picked at ... it's scary!

Yeah I was wondering where Cinny's been this week...

I have a cupcake question for her too. Those cupcake boxes Cinny got, I'm wondering how companies do cupcakes by post, surely the postie turns them upside down and all the frosting goes everywhere?! I need to understand the cupcake continuum!

    I'm here I'm here!

Dinah - They use these weird oversized boxes I think! There is a girl on the really long titled chat thread on money saving arms who does cupcakes via post so it might be an idea to find her?

OH actually has annoyingly good singing pitch so you can barely hear him singing along, it's just the fact I know he's doing it that winds me up! He isn't that bad with cinema sweeties actually, when we went to see The Ugly Truth on Friday it was me who ate all the skittles and slurped most of the diet coke. :o But skittles taste pretty fruity so I figure there has to be at least 2 of my 5 a day in there, right? :D

OH doesn't challenge me anymore because he knows I'm effing useless at it :D I've just been super swamped at work and when I'm at home it's basically eat and then bed (bought a duvet at the weekend and it calls me!)

Yesterday I thought I was doing super well, back to watching my bank balance.. then I wandered into Asda after work and saw the new Vogue cover waving at me (it actually was waving - or at least someone was flicking through it and making it twinkle!) so that was £3.90 gone in an instant, followed by £1 on shaving foam and 60p on cat milk.

Had my second HPV vaccine today (ouch!) so I spent the afternoon sunning outside to make myself feel better. I've also found a way to curb my clothes spending while I'm loosing weight - Polyvore! I've started being an uber geek and making outfits on there. Still get the joy of seeing outfits come together but without the insane price tags I keep getting. (although you could argue not every outfit needs a £500+ bag.)

Diet has been going well too. Although yesterday even with tea I only came in at 880kcal so my only option was to eat a chocolate bar to bump up the calories.. I really am suffering for this diet you know!

ETA: Forgot to say, I worked out shopping burns 2.4kcal per minute. Fab!! Now maybe OH won't moan when I drag him around in circles shopping :D

I don't get how you come in so low every day, I'm basically eating soups and salads and fruit and it still comes in well over 1000cals!

Hmmm I will look for the cupcake lady, thanks Cinny!
