Just remember that right now the repayments are going to be OK but next year when you're wanting to pay rent/mortgage and all of the bills that come with it it'll be more of a burden! I fell for that trick when I took out a loan a few years ago and I wish someone had talked me out of it!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

I know what you mean, problem is he needs a car for work and we don't have any other source bar a loan to draw from. He doesn't have any savings and we can't turn to our families for the money as it's money worries right left and center atm.
Plus for when I move out (into my own bought house) I do have 10k stashed for furnishing and a few bills so that wouldn't be much of a worry, It would only really be a problem while we rent.
ETA: Just got this weeks wage slip, £142!
I think I might pay my CC off fully and skip putting money into savings this week. I'd have £85 left for the week after weekly bills if I did.
I could infact still put £35 into savings as I doubt I'll spend more than £50 next week... hmm!0 -

10k?! I don't even have £10! Lucky you! That must take the pressure off saving lots for when you move out.
Your money situation seems good. If I was you, I'd keep the £85 in my account, and if I have any left at the end of the week then I'd put it in my savings. But that's just me, cuz whenever I say '£50 will be more than enough' I end up having to transfer money back in cuz I've ran out! :rolleyes:Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

I think Zig's right! And if you do that you'd probably save more because I can imagine you having a little competition with yourself to see how much you can have left over to put in savings by the end of the week!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. haha, I think you might have a point with the savings. I'll see what I have left by next thursday and transfer it then. Might need to buy train tickets to go see OH before then.
Good news is, OH has kind of found a car. One that will last us for a fair few years too, he has to ring back this weekend but it's looking hopeful! It's only £125ish extra to insure for this year and his mum is being lovely and lending him the money too. Almost sorted! Only problem is not knowing when I'll be seeing OH next.
Decided to scrap my money making plans for this afternoon and finish my book off instead, done the budget so at least I can tick one thing off of the list! Forgot my mum and brother are going to a Nine Inch Nails gig tonight so I've got tea to cook too.0 -
Your Mum is such a rocker Cinny! I'd hate NIN, too noisy and shouty for me!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

Wow you are lucky to have all that money for furniture etc. WE rent a furnished flat so will need to get furniture when we buy our own place.0

I know I'm very lucky, it's kind of like 'life savings' from my Grandparents, last update I got it was about £10,800 but I don't really class it as my money. They want me to use it to either furnish my house or put towards the deposit, can't argue with that!
I don't like NIN either Birdie! It's just like one long noise. My mum can be pretty rock and roll though, I feel so old when I ask her to turn it down!
My sister is being a pain, she wants me to go out shopping with her and won't let it drop. Thankfully I have wet hair and I'm saying I want to let it airdry, I think she's just about buying it!0 -
Think of the furniture you could buy with £10,000! My first house is going to look like an Ikea warehouse
Where does your sister wanna go shopping? Surely the shops are closed now?
Good news about the car! Would be good for your OH too if he doesn't have to get a loan. What car is it?
For what it's worth, I don't like NIN either!I do have a small love of Metallica though

I'm a slave to Ikea, so my house will be no doubt furnished from there too! I couldn't bring myself to spend 10k on house bits! All that's left over will no doubt go into rainy day fund!
She wanted to go too the shopping center, open till 9! When I go shopping with her she pushes me to buy stuff (hence £57 in topshop afew weeks back!) thankfully she decided to do online shopping, so I'm safe!
I used to be into the whole Slipknot, Murderdolls music when I was 13. Feel so old now it's all Take That and Radio 1! I think if I met my 13 year old self, she'd hate me. I'm everything I promised I wouldn't be with is basically average!0
