thriftlady wrote:Ahh wine, yes that's my treat too. When I am counting points instead of just thinking about counting them, I save them for half a bottle of wine 3 nights a week(sometimes more often

Oooh! I like the sound of that! How many points is a half bottle of wine Thriftlady? My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

OK, Nels is setting me up here.
I have a confession to make ladies and gentlemen of Oldstyle. I am a reprobate. I should be drummed out, my microfibre cloth burnt and my vinegar spray bunged up. Reprobates Y Us wouldn't have me if they knew what I have done!
In dreadful breach of all that is money saving today......Coz they were my stopped smoking pressy (5 years now)..... and my 50th birthday pressy... and I been saving for years....
I went and bought myself my first ever (and probably only ever) pair of Jimmy Choos
And I am soooo happy I could do somersaults! :j :j
Sorry... I'll shut up now
Well Ive always understood the ethos of Martins site and OS is making sure you get the best price for things so that you can do nice things with what you save (well thats my interpretation anyway!) so therefore you have nothing to be ashamed of and if half the site is anything like me they will be very jealous but very pleased for you "Miss Sex in the City" !!(what size are you again?):j0 -
wow racy jimmy choos very jealous.
any pics- so we can all drool.
well i have sort of finished for the day - just stopped varnishing architrave and glossing the inside of the doors upstairs. dp painted the front of our house today and it looks great. he has just put up 3 sets of wiggly mirrors from ikea on the wall behind our bed - looks fab.
washing machine, dw, & tumble dryer are all busy so i will still have to sort them later with dp help. washing needs to go away and our dinner is in the slow cooker waiting for us.
just need to parcel up some ebay & amazon stuff to post tomorrow. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -

Some of the members of the WW session would save up their points for fish & chips after the weigh in .. good grief that's 15 points .. more than 2 bottles of wine (or 4 half bottles each for thriftlady and apple_mint
).
:rotfl: I suppose when you analyse it ... it's indicative of their weaknesses and could explain their weight gain (do they do 1/4 portions of F&C's??) :rotfl:

Sorry it's taken so long I'm not shy it's just that I'm not very good with technology.
In true MoneySaving style it's home made veggie pasta sauce for dinner as provided by OH (you know her as VickyA). She is sat next to me now watching everything I type and switching in to teacher mode checking my work.....now that's pressure  .

I like to have a little bit of what I fancy every nightand not have to wait all week for my 'treat' :rotfl:
Just found 'Squeaky's' roast armadillo post. Personally I'd really like to know where the purple spotted seaweed can be found. It has to be 0 point ... can you stir fry or do you have to steam? As for penguins, they are just too cute to eat and take up an awful lot of space in the freezer :rotfl:Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
VickyA wrote:I've just had a chat with OH about our spending - ie where our money is going. We did a statement of affairs for ourselves and worked out how much we've got spare at the end of our bills etc. Unfortunately, there's an awful lot of money that is "disposable", but we have nothing to show for it!
So, tomorrow will be a brand new OS day for us both. Not scrimping, but making do with what we've got and accounting for where all our money goes.........
Wish us luck
Vicky.. Look at Aliasjo's Mortgage pig thread. Great ideas there to save money on a daily basis.
